Critique help needed because sales stopped and I don't know why

Hi,

If anyone could give me some feedback on my store, I would greatly appreciate it.

Here's the background and the reason I'm feeling confused and in need of a critique. We opened the store last April and started slowly increasing our sales. We weren't exactly going gang busters, but we were making steady sales. Then, after February, our sales completely stopped. I thought maybe it was because all of our sales before were driven by the holidays. I went back and looked at our sales and we sold more in January and February than in any other month besides December, so I don't think that was the reason.

I do realize that we need some new photos and it's something we're working on. But, these are the photos we had when we were making sales, so I don't really think they contributed to the stop in sales. I've changed a few of the descriptions since the sales stopped to see if that would help, but most of them are still the same as they were when we were making sales. I didn't change anything until after the sales had stopped, so I don't think any changes I made precipitated the fall off in sales.

If anyone has any insights/suggestions based on what our store looks like, etc. I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much!

- Kelly

How and where are you promoting your shop? It looks like you've added all of your items starting from the beginning of this year. See what tags are working and what are not. Swap out the ones that are not and try tags that are more than one word, that you think buyers would search for.

Thanks Contempo. We've actually started promoting our shop in more places since our sales have stopped, which is what's so weird. We have Facebook and we did before, but we've since added Pinterest and Twitter accounts. And as always, we're trying to find other blogs, etc. that would like to feature our artwork.

I've been playing with tags to no great effect, but I'll try mixing it up again and see if your suggestion of using multi-word tags works. I had thought that might be limiting by needing someone to be too specific in their search, but I'm completely open to being proven wrong :-)
