Hello, fellow Estians (is this the correct Name for us? I hope so I like the way it sounds...Lol). My name is Kimberly Drobot and I am a new Seller on Etsy. The name of my shop is KimmeasmilefulBoutiq. I sell antiques, vintage items, collectibles, and my own crafted Floral Arrangments and Wreaths that are unlike any others. I do have 25 years plus an an Entrepreneur in the Service Industry, my company name is Requests Unlimited. Requests Unlimited provides a multitude of Services for Residential Home Owners/Renters, as well as, Realtors. The companies motto is "One Source for all your Household, Property, and Personal Concierge Services".
However, I have never had a shop. I have sold on eBay for the past couple of years, but I am not happy selling on this venue anylonger. I feel a bit awkward because I am so new at this whole process. I would love to have any hints that may help me have success here on Etsy.
Right now I am on a sabbatical from Requests Unlimited. The truth is that I ran away from my own home of 20+ years to save my life from Domestic Violence in Oct 2008. When I ran from my home I left everything I owned behind. I left with nothing. My ex managed to embezzled every penny I had. I remained in hiding for a year and then took my case to the local D.A here in San Jose, California. Long story cut short my ex is serving 13 years in Prison. With no local funding at the time for victims of Domestic Violence and a shortage of shelters I found myself facing Homelessness. By the grace of God, self-preservation is my number one priority.
In 2011, I returned to school to earn my Bachelors and currently I am working on my Masters in Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Leadership. I also started writing a book that I hope by sharing my experiences will inspire and help Women in similar nightmares. The name of my book is "My Personal Metamorphosis: A Story of Tragedies turned into Triumphs Through the Power of Love"
About four years ago I started investing in antiques, vintage jewlery and other items, collectibles, and began my love of creating beautiful Florals.
I am now ready to end my plight into Homelessness and re-establish and build a new home and life for myself. When I was running like Forrest Gump from my home I made a promise to myself. That promise was I was going to learn what it was about me that allow this violence in my life. They say, we must learn from our history because if we do not we are doomed to face it again. Hence, this is where and how I was able to have my own very powerful metamorphosis. I liken my story to the legendary story of the Phoenix bird who from its own ashes was reborn. Now, I am ready to get busy and make some money so that i can get off these streets. Well, yes I am on the streets but, I have had phenomenal human Angels during this experience to keep me from the "spirit thieving" energy that accompanies Homelessness. The local Police keep an eye out on me and Santa Clara University allows me to stay on campus at night. So, I am truly blessed. I am now looking for my miracle to find a home to call my own. Which brings me back to my new endevour here on Etsy. Please I welcome all the advice, guidance, tips, and support that is here in "The Cafe" team.
