I know there are going to be a lot of sales this weekend for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

Who's planning on some great deals? I'm going to try to make a blog post with links to all the amazing sales happening on etsy :)

I am planning to have an overall discount in my entire shop and I will be interested to see how it goes from here in Australia. Black Friday - Cyber Monday sales are not a usual thing here but I thought it couldn't hurt to have a sale myself as I sell to all over the world.

Thanks delovely, I am thinking about 15% for the 4 days. This is new for me so I might need to be guided by what you all think. I did not realise that a lot of engagements happen there over the holidays although it does make sense. It has taken me quite a while to learn about the wedding industry in USA and the reverse seasons etc. Thanks for the offer to retweet and I will be more than happy for you to do that when I make a final decision as to what to do. (The input of team members would be greatly appreciated). What is everyone else going to do?

There are multiple ways you can do a sale, 15% off one item vs 15% off your total purchase are two different things so make sure you can still make a good profit before you choose. You can also just offer certain listings at great deals. Free Shipping is always a bonus too, even if you don't have any other sales going on, that usually saves someone 10% their normal total

Thanks again. Free shipping is not going to be an option as our Australia Post in their wisdom (right at Christmas) have increased the postage rate to overseas destinations to $17.50 per item up to 500g.

I was planning to make the discount applicable on the item only and leave the postal charges as they are. Maybe 10% off all items in my shop would be better. You have given me some food for thought now. I am planning to do a Coupon Code and I assume that the code refers to the item only and does not take in the postage. Do you know the answer? This is a bit tricky. Thanks again.

I'm not sure if Etsy is Australia is different from here, but coupon codes usually aren't limited to specific items, it's usually just a general checkout discount. I don't think it factors into the postage though. So funny, I think almost every 5th order I get...it's to Australia, wish shipping was cheaper though.
