I wanted to see if anyone has used of knows of some kind of tool that can twist it for you with out you having to use your fingers to twist it?

I don't know of any tool like that but I want to know too! I just got finished with an order for 84 feather flowers and still have another for 56! :P
I was wondering the same thing not long ago...

Re: Wire twisting tool? anyone?

I swear that I've seen tools that do this, but I naturally can't find any now. But here's a tutorial for making one from a coat hanger! http://www.jagwearjewelry.com/wiretwister.htm

I'll keep looking and see if I can find the tool that I'm thinking of.

Here's what I was thinking of. Looks like you can use this tool to twist one strand of wire or two.

Re: Wire twisting tool? anyone?

Couldn't you use a dremel? Just have it set to a lower speed so it doesn't break off and hold onto the picks where the beads end. I'm trying to think of what a bead pick is and not 100% sure if it's what I'm thinking of.

Re: Wire twisting tool? anyone?

Its just a long piece of metal wire with a bead in the center and the wire is twisted to make a pick or you could think of it a a straight stick. I'm not to good at explaining that. But it whats I'd put in a wedding bouquet to add some bling.

Re: Wire twisting tool? anyone?

You could also try a cordless screwdriver/drill. Attach your wire to a base of some kind (staple it to a board, maybe?) and then tape the two ends on either side of the screwdriver, along it's length.

Edited to say:
Of course that leaves the bead out of the equation, but I'm sure you could adapt :)

Re: Wire twisting tool? anyone?

I have used my dremel for twisting wire. I just stick the ends where the bit usually goes & go slowly.
CAUTION! If you go too fast you can turn it into a projectile.

Re: Wire twisting tool? anyone?

I have and use the wire twisting pliers that have been linked to in this thread. It is a great heavy duty and multipurpose tool to have around the house as well. Just yesterday it came in handy to cut and repair sections of 14ga steel deer fencing. :)
