Why are my bracelets breaking? HELP!

I make diffuser bracelets and stretch bracelets with gemstones and glass beads. I've used several different kinds of elastic, but have transitioned to using only stretch magic, as I've read it's the best.

Out of around 150 bracelets sold (on here and at craft shows, etc), I've had several start to break.

At first I thought it was because I was using glue on the knot. It seems as though the glue was deteriorating the cord. I stopped using glue and adjusted my knotting technique.

I now use .5mm cord, double strand the cord, and tie a knot through the loop at the end. The new way has worked much better but I still have several bracelets breaking. They are not breaking at the knot, rather in the middle of the cord.

I've also used .7mm cord, but this is often too big to double strand, which would impede the knotting technique I now use.

I've read several of the discussions on here and just purchased a bead reamer to try and help. I am also pre-stretching the cord before I string any beads, as I've read that should help as well.

Any other advice would be helpful!
