Other methods than resins?

I've been tempted to try out resin earrings. However, I don't want to use all those chemicals... Are their other methods for sealing paper and other materials to make these cute little earrings? Or is resin the only way to go?

~Thanks!

Resin is horrible, I use it and i hate it! I hope someone has a good answer to an alternative.

I put two coats of Modge Podge on my paper, being sure to get sides. (Let dry between coats.) After I glue paper in bezel, I use 3D Crystal Lacquer. It has worked great!

I guess it does depend on what exactly you are trying to make. The crystal 3d lacquer (and diamond glaze)are good, non toxic and clear, but sometimes the bubbles are a nightmare. And sometimes it can be finicky with humidity and such, just like resin. I am wondering which cute little earrings you mean? Most sizes you can use glass to replace the resin...
