Looking for a permanent table tape measure

Because my table is used all day long with arms rubbing against it while I work, I need some sort of strong adhesive tape measure. I know if all else fails I could use an actual tape measure, but I don't want to because I know it would get pretty beat up in the place I need it.

Any Suggestion?

How long do you need it to be? I use an Ikea measuring tape for mine, you know, the paper one. I just stuck it on the edge of the table with cellotape. (layers if need be) Just make sure it is well covered and it will remain there for a long time.

Does it really stay? I mean maybe I should just cut down one of my sewing measuring tapes and use that. (IKEA is about 45 min. from me) That is what I use for some items and others I use a little six inch ruler. I just hate working on bead boards.

Now, the table I am using now isn't wood, it is actually one of my old plastic fold up tables from the craft fairs. Do you think that cello tape will work with that kind of plastic? I wonder if they make an adhesive measuring tape that is durable. Hmm, off to Google. Thanks for your help Skye!

Tape sure is cheaper and I just bought a six roll pack so I think I will just be resourceful and use what I have like you did.

I just taped down a simple vinyl measuring tape that I bought for $1. I used extra wide heavy duty clear scotch tape. It's been on the front edge of my countertop for 3 years and it is as good as the first day I put it on. Try it. What have you got to lose.
