Ink It Up ink pads - good, bad, ugly, indifferent?

okay, I'm looking to buy ink pads in a set (gotta have the whole color spectrum or I am ALWAYS lacking just the color I would need for a project lol) and with the help of the awesome, super-knowledgeable people in this forum (special shout-out to papergirlstudios!!) I have settled on pigment ink at least to start with.

I had seen a nice-sized lot of Royal Langnickel ink pads for a fantabulous price in an ebay art store, and was gonna get those because I've had a good experience with the brand in the past on other materials - inexpensive but not cheap as it were :P. But by the time I got around to it, the lot was out of stock! Gah. And I'm not looking to buy separately - kinda would kick my budget's @ss lol

Now, the only non-budget-killing sets I find are Ink it up! pads. But the problem is, I can't find any reviews etc on these, so all I have to go on is the price which is edging on to 'too good to be true' (but not so close that I can definitely say 'if it sounds too good to be true, it is'). OTOH, they ARE sold as an alternative to such lofty names as Ranger and Tsukineko in a variety of online craft stores. Even though they're usually promoted using words like 'value' alternative and other words meaning 'cheap', how terrible could they be if specialist stores choose them to sell alongside the nicer options?

So I thought since this forum helped me so much in figuring out which TYPE of ink to go far, it was a good bet to come back now I need brand advice :-)

Oh - if you know of a brand/source for cheaper but still decent ink pads other than ink it up, feel free to let me know!! (if you're worried about sharing suppliers with the competition, don't be, because I have NO plans to work on an etsy store in the foreseeable future - just convo me if you don't want it public!)

I've never used them so I can't say. All of my pigment inks are Color Box. I haven't purchased any in years because they last forever. I have quite a few that are 18 years old and still work as well as the day I bought them.
