Glue for Paper

What is the best glue for paper products? I want something that will be long lasting and acid free. I've tried spray adhesive, hot glue, double stick tape and a new "paper glue" by Scotch.
I just want something really tacky for 3-D paper items and rosettes.

Re: Glue for Paper

The best glue I've ever found for paper is Elmer's glue. Its specifically designed for paper and lasts forever.

Re: Glue for Paper

Try gel medium from the art supplies store. You can get it in matte and glossy finished, and in several viscosities. A quality brand will be acid-free and last as long as your paper will.

Re: Glue for Paper

I agree with Crochetgal that Elmer's is fantastic for basic paper gluing. Don't let the price fool you.

Re: Glue for Paper

I am looking for more of the acid free and matte. I do like Elmer's for some items, its just those darn rosettes seem to not want to stay put (probably because there isn't much surface to glue on).

Re: Glue for Paper

My favorite glue to use for heavier embellishments is Zip Dry. It's acid free and is thick enough to hold some weight.

I'll keep my eye open for Zip Dry and give it a try.

Re: Glue for Paper

I like Aleene's Tacky Glue. It's thick so it holds pieces in place and it also dries fast. Oh, and you can find it at any craft store and it's not expensive :)
