This is a pic of a super bulky, multi-colored yarn. Does anyone know what brand or color this is called?

It looks like T-shirt yarn - the kind you can make by cutting a t-shirt into very thin strips in a continous spiral. Just a guess, though! :)

My best guess is it's a merino chunky thick/thin yarn. Not sure of the specific brand but I found this brand that makes lovely dye lots:

It looks like the hat is crocheted from single ply handspun yarn. (I've spun and dyed this type of yarn before https://www.etsy.com/transaction/135251 )

Search here on etsy for "handspun wool thick thin" to see if you find something you like.

You can narrow the search by adding "single ply" but not everyone tags with those words so some good results will be omitted.

It does look a little like an underspun single but it could also just be crocheted from a pencil roving (a thin carded but not spun roving) the ends of the tassel are what makes me think it may be unspun wool.
