I am suddenly getting an error with some of my listings. I sell turquoise stones, but this error has affected about 20% of my listings now. I would not have noticed it if a neighbor had not alerted me to it.
I tried to deactivate and reactivate later, but that does not work. There must be some way to repair this, yes?? Please?
Thank you
Can you post the link to one of your listings which is affected?
I don't understand why this is happening in some stones and not in others in the same category with the same descriptions. How can I reach someone in Etsy technical department? I have never had issues like these.
Thank you
I clicked on your link and I get the 'Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region. I'm in Tennessee so it must be a glitch.
@TimelessTurquoise I can see this with my settings on Canada, but not the US.
A few of my listings were hidden like this 2-3 years back, as Etsy thought they were plants. They were not plants.
Yours may be picked up by the bots when renewed, so not all of them may be caught yet. Or, maybe it is something inherent in the listings. Compare the images of the banned ones and the normal ones to see if there are any differences. Also, do all of the affected items have the word "Indian" in them?
@TimelessTurquoise: "There must be some way to repair this, yes??" Yes and no. Etsy makes some listings 'unavailable' in some areas based on something in the listing. The classic example is knives in the United Kingdom. Or it could simply be an Etsy glitch. The difficulty is determining exactly what in the listing triggered the listing being flagged and what the 'region' is. Since Etsy is now also factoring descriptions in search, they along with titles, tags, and materials (and possibly even alt tags if you are using them) are all probably being checked. And the bots are also "reading" images. Based on other posts in this forum, it is unlikely that Customer Service will be able to provide a definitive answer.
Very frustrating. I have other stones in this category with the same description and tags, the only difference is the measurements, weights and prices. It is very strange
Thank you
This is an error I was having some months back. It was a glitch on Etsy's side. Etsy is experiencing an excessive amounts of current problems. This is likely due to working on site updates. It will be necessary to let Etsy know about malfunctions by contacting them directly on chat with screen shots and posting in the forums technical issues so other sellers can chime in if they are experiencing the same problem.
@TimelessTurquoise I can view the listing just fine from the UK. It only seems to be having the error when viewing from the US.
This appears to be a technical issue. You will need to contact Etsy support directly (via shop manager > Help > Contact us) with a list of all affected listings (or at least a few examples) so they can investigate. Sending screenshots of the issue when viewing from different countries would help to illustrate the problem. Also tell them what device you are using and whether you are using the app or browser to publish the listings.
