i’m looking to make a website for my etsy shop that you wouldn’t be able to buy on that website - but it would be a link to take you to the etsy shop, if that makes sense.
id love to hear how this works for anyone who has done it and website recommendations!
That sounds like a blog type website. I'm sure others will offer their thoughts on that.
My thoughts, since you asked? We are here on Etsy for the traffic this venue provides. I also have my own website - where I process sales, and have a link to my Etsy shop, for anyone who prefers to shop here, that's fine with me. But the fees are a lot lower on my site, and Etsy has those wonderful "Offsite Ad" fees - which I can't opt out of.
Any website or blog you set up will need marketing to get the word out anyways - unless you currently have a large following on Social media, so why not just have your Etsy links there? And if you're going to go to the trouble of setting up a blog, and make regular posts to keep up interest, why not set up an e-commerce site?
Best wishes, whatever you decide!
Checking your shop, I see you have over 100K followers on INstagram, with a linktree link, and you posts daily - All GREAT!
I see you already have a blog, and not able to see how many subscribers.
So you are already doing what I suggested, so I wonder what more you are wishing to accomplish?
You can opt out of Etsy ads I did you should check i did
I would never send my own website customers to Etsy! Through my dead body! It just makes so financial sense at all.
If you post an item on your site, create a link to the corresponding product on Etsy.
I can think of several reasons to process sales on Etsy, such as Etsy processing and remitting taxes.
