You have no sales, if you received a message asking you to verify your credit card to proceed with an order, this was a SCAM. If you followed any links in that message and gave out your credit card details, you have been tricked. Contact your bank immediately and have any charges to the card reversed and ask them to cancel the card and issue you with a new one. You never have to verify anything in order for an order to go through, it all happens automatically and a real order will always show in your Dashboard. You have no orders showing because this was NOT a real order.
Assuming it was a real sale, and was cancelled after the sale went through, the most logical reason was due to credit card fraud. The card holder gets a an alert on their card, checks it, and reports it as fraudulent. The card company then yanks the money back from Etsy.
Etsy is not going to tell you what the issue was as it would be a privacy violation. Etsy likely doesn't even know the real reason. But just knowing it was cancelled is enough.
You should be aware the scammers and thieves always target new shops. They figure new sellers will be naive and excited for their first sale and ignore the red flags. They will pretend to be a buyer, they will pretend to be Etsy, they will tell you lies about how Etsy operates and claim you need to update your bank info. They will even direct you to faked web pages that look like Etsy in order to steal your money. Don't fall for it.
@Design2B4ever
The odds of a new shop getting a sale within mins, days is slim to none.
This is a SCAM to steal your money.
If it was a "real" order it would show on your order page and the funds would be in your payment account.
You don't have to do anything to verify an order.
Lots of important info on scams on the help pages.

I discussed the issue with Etsy support. They think it could be the case that the customer close out too soon before the transaction process to complete

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
