I have had my star seller badge taken away for January due to what I believe is a technical issue. I was told I was dinged because I did not reply in a timely manor to a customers question in messages. Her message says it was posted on Dec. 18 and I replied on Dec 19th, but apparently more than 24hrs later.
I check my messages several times a day and I always promptly reply. Her message was did not arrive on the 18th.
There were no problems or issues - she just had a question. This was a technical issue that I had no control over and I should not have to lose my badge over it. I hope this problem can be reviewed again in the next few days.

If you feel you can’t reply to all messages reliably, or feel Etsy is dropping the ball informing you, then set an auto reply.
the reply has to be in 24 HOURS
so if you received the message at 6.00am on the 18th, you have to reply before 6.00am on 19th.
When you look at etsy messages, in the messages section, they have an hour count, up to 24 hours
then they have a day count
if it says "23 hours ago", you still have an hour to reply
if it says "1 day ago", you've gone more than 24 hours
