Hi guys, I'm a relatively new store with not many sales (23), I haven't reached the stage of being a STAR SELLER yet. All the buyers who left me a REVIEW gave me a score of 5 and are very satisfied. It turns out that in the display of my items there is a score of 3.8 in SHIPPING, even though no buyer gave me less than 5 and even though there were no delays or problems with deliveries.
I'm afraid it scares potential buyers.
Etsy referred me to this platform to get help. Thanks
Hello there,
As of March 21, our engineers updated all USPS shipping labels that were purchased since the start of this issue. All labels that were stuck in the ‘Pre-Transit’ state due to this issue are now displaying the proper tracking information. You will also see these updates reflected in your Star Seller Shipping Score. For more information about this, you may check out this Forums Announcement.
Thank you very much!
Hello @AnatCrafts,
Based on the information you've provided, it appears that you're referring to the sub-ratings which can only be seen on the Etsy app. Please remember that these sub-ratings are not calculated into your overall average. The overall average (or main score) is independent of any sub-rating. For example, a customer can give 5 stars for the main rating, but then give a lower star for the three sub-ratings(item quality, shipping, and customer service). This is unlikely to happen, but it is the way review collections work when a buyer decides to leave a review.
Thank you very much!
The rating for shipping means you shipped on time and used tracking.
Are you talking about in your star seller dashboard or in your reviews? If it's the in reviews section, I believe customers have a choice of things that they can click on when they rate you that they liked about your shop, maybe they just didn't check those boxes or forgot to. If it's your star seller dashboard, you can see what the issue is if you go into the link in the shipping section. Double check too in your completed orders that all of your packages have been delivered, I know there is a glitch right now with packages still showing as being pre-transit even though they have been delivered and it's affecting our star seller ratings.
I see now that did have one "in transit" . i sent them a mail to update. i will check if something changes. thanks

All buyers that rated my shop gave me 5 stars.
No one rated less.
Im not a star seller yet, but this is shown to shoppers .
I dont understand why etsy is showing a wrong shipping rate.

Hi, thank you, but no buyer gave me less then 5 stars. Maybe they didnt rate shipping at all.
I didnt understand how it is calculated, and why it is shown to buyers with app at all.
I have the same issue though my ratings are all 100% in the star seller stats, I have 4.9 in buyer ratings for shipping and customer service. I am guessing that the longer shipping times that I have, though they are stated on the listing, are getting less than 5 stars. I don't think that buyers should be able to give a lower rating when I ship on time or before as is reflected in my 100% 5 star seller rating. I have no clue why anyone would give a lower customer service rating when buyers don't normally need any and I always answer quickly. Go figure
@smalltownseamstress: "I don't think that buyers should be able to give a lower rating when I ship on time" Unfortunately buyers can leave any review they feel is appropriate - it is just a cost of business. We once had a buyer give us a 1 star because she ordered the wrong size and admitted that in the review but never contacted us for a return or exchange.
