You have to leave a comment of at least 4 words, I think.
I think you can but if it needs something just use the space bar once with no text. That should show the box was entered and something left.

I just made a post about this (sorry, didn't see this before I posted, can I delete my post?) You can no longer leave stars only. Etsy makes you write the five words. Bummer. Much easier to just star and run.
