I'm trying to figure this out. I have a customer who says when she has multiple items from my shop in her cart the pay button is grayed out. So she has to buy each item one at a time. She is on Instagram and clicks on my link to my shop. I asked her if she was on the Etsy app and she said that she was. I told her next time she tries to purchase items from my shop try going to a web browser, type in Etsy.com, and log in to her account. Do you think this will help solve the buying items one at a time?
I added two items to my cart from your shop and yep greyed out. One item it seems I would have been able to purchase but not when I had more then that
I put two items, crow/moon wood block and a quilt design pumpkin and I was able to check out with all options. I wonder if they are specific items or browsers? i am using chrome.
There may one or more items that have something in the settings that clashes with the others, or one that you have recently modified (eg changing the price or quantity due to running out of a particular style or colour). It may be that there is an item included that you don't/can't send to her location (especially if she is in a country with import veto laws) or have to ship using a different service than the others. Ask the buyer to remove all the items and then add them back one at a time, checking the Pay Button each time to see if it is lit. This will help identify which item the system has a problem with, then she can check out the ones that don't have a problem, and try ordering the problem one separately.
This is an excellent suggestion!
The items she purchased were new listings. Maybe it had something to do with the listings having quantities. She bought one pumpkin where 3 were available and she also bought 3 Pears where 10 were available. She lives in the US
Thank you to those who have tried to help. The items she was trying to purchase were newly listed items that have since sold out. One was for a jack o lantern which I had three available and the others were decorative Pears which I had Ten available. She bought one Jack o lantern and three Pears individually. I wonder if the two listings being each had quantities had something to do with the problem? She is in the US so it's not a foreign problem.
You say "that have since sold out." Perhaps she was trying to make the purchase when someone else was already in the process of checking out? This is a head scratcher, for sure.
Perhaps she had more quantity in the cart than you had available?
I don't think that was the case.
