This is most likely a SCAM, which has been rampant.
First, check on a browser or computer and make sure that it is in the "from etsy" section of you inbox (won't appear on the app). All REAL messags from etsy will be there. If it's not, it's a SCAM. Did they ask for you to go to another site (or ask for your email) to verify your financial information? They are trying to get you to divulge financial info to steal your money.
Mark the message as spam and do not engage
Read through the forums to familiarize yourself with common scams. They prey on new shops who don't know how etsy works.
SCAM!
It's not a legitimate message from Etsy.
I placed one of your items in the cart with no problem, all payment methods were available, so everything seems fine,
Scammers/thieves target new shops, trying to get information from them; usually ask for email and then bank/credit card info to try to steal.
You can see if it's really from Etsy by checking on a computer- not the app- that the message is in the official Etsy message section.
Be sure you aren't an easy victim for scammers by making sure you are selling items that adhere to Etsy's Terms of Use. You may find yourself actually shut down by Etsy.

Hello,
Please note that what a shop features for sale does not correlate with whether or not potential scammers might target them.
Otherwise, please check our article on Reporting an Item or a Shop for instructions on how to proceed if you come across a shop that you suspect might be going against our Terms of Use and proceed thusly.
Thank you.

Hallo, I have had a rash of these recently, they appear in my normal messages, not the From Etsy section. This one arrived today. There's some desperate people out there trying to trick people. Please don't click on their links!
"Dear seller, In relation to the increasing number of fraudulent activities on our platform, we have made the decision to verify your account through the bank. Failure to pass this verification process may result in your account being blocked. Kind regards, Etsy Security. To proceed with the verification, please click the link provided". The badge looks official, but as I say it was in the wrong section. I do think Etsy need to issue a warning to sellers and be clear on how to avoid the scammers.
Handmade!
Alibaba and eBay. Amazing.
