Hi
I marked a dodgy message as spam. Then I got the same rubbish again so I ignored it and it lost me star seller
If I mark one type of scam as spam WHY do I have to mark it spam every time. don't your filters know that the message from "from Etsy" telling me my store won't accept orders is clearly spam . there should be a rule that you can't get the same spam message twice in a week.
VERY MAD that a very obvious scam sent to me lost me star seller when it was already reported the first time
@LaminatedCottonShop: "WHY do I have to mark it spam every time." Because each new spam thread probably comes from a different account. Also you could have marked a message from someone as spam, and what if they then sent you a message as a legitimate buyer with a real product question which was not spam?
It takes less than a second to mark a spam message as "spam". If Star Seller is important to you, there are two choices:
Etsy's Star Seller rules have been clear from the beginning. Either reply, or spam it. It's unlikely Etsy is going to change this any time soon, as it is working exactly how Etsy wants it to work.
Not what you want to hear, I know. Sorry.
There are new accounts being created constantly because the scam accounts are banned and blocked quickly.
There are new variations of the wording of the scam being created constantly because the bots are trained to recognize the scams and ban the users.
Etsy is trying it's best to try to contain this plague, but they are always one step behind the eight ball.
As suggested above, either spam them or set a auto reply.
I don't see any of this changing any time soon.
Those scams are probably not even from the same person--so best to spam them!

This is why a spam button exists. Just spam them and you will not get dinged.
There is already a lot of programming that is constantly happening behind the scenes. Etsy has to choose what is most important to put time toward. They gave us the ability to deal with this ourselves. You assumed something would work without checking or covering yourself. It's very frustrating to lose Star Seller which is the real rub here. Try marking it as Spam now to hopefully fix things for next month.
you have to respond to each new message thread, or mark them as spam.
You have to do it,
the new spam messages were from different accounts, so were in new message threads, they would also have been highlighted in BLUE, so you couldn't miss them.
you need to just do it, clicking the spam button takes less than a second
