multi item listings

I have had two orders in the fast few days in unrelated listings for items that were sold out. I feel like there is a glitch in the machine. I am careful to inventory those listings regularly and in about 48 hours I've had two items erroneously purchased. Any thoughts or has anyone else experienced this recently?

I checked and the ones with quantity have the sold out and cannot be purchased.

Perhaps the purchases just came so close together that they overlapped?  I had that happen once years ago.
