Hello ,
i hope this problem would be solved asap because it really made me in bad situation from this early morning . agents were very forwarded with not fully understanding queries , they answer/attack before i finish my statements/messages , they claim that they undesrtand and copy paste the answers that they already told me , also they remind me of the policies that even buyers with no selling accounts knows like the 14days delay for new shops , but they don't answer the real questions am asking them , i real mess that pushed me to take an early dose of insoline because of the non sense solutions i receive from them !
i spent nearly 20 usd on medics and pressure test , spent my whole day contacting 4-5 agents with no solution provided or reassurance , Payments process are very messy , they sent me a very small amount of my sales minus the fees of transactions , i asked that's for what , is it charity or a "Pacifier" to shut up . My friends who recommended me to work on this platform never had a such problem , never contacted the customer service before and everything was good , when they saw my case they really surprised by that , is it because of third world country policies ? I requested a phone call and they refused and claimed that they can help ( as the other agents claimed to do so)
i mean my day , case study , product researches and campaigns are stopped because of this , cost e my health , sleep and money for a whole journey , am not an easy going or a sheep , am working on different fields , also and never had a problem with the customer service until i started exploring another field on etsy and especially when it's about payments they tried to get me lost , an agent told me that i will never get paid untill i put my store under vocation mode , or you stop receiving sales , another person told me that i need to wait 90 days , they got me confused , plus some products were flagged as copyrighted even if a lot of stores are selling the same products on the platform , am not here to claim my earnings only , but to understand how etsy works !
PLEASE I NEED A PHONE CALL FROM YOU PLEASE , i don't know if they can't understand english very well ( btw am not english also ) , but there is a miscommunication and they work in a good comfort zone without supervising
Please HELP
If you designed the art based on certain characters from a book, it's still infringing if those characters can be recognized as such.
If it has no relation to any book or character, then it's ok.
Apparently IP rights are hard to understand for some sellers too because so many default to the old classic, "but other shops are selling the same thing" excuse.
Yes, I expect you won't be getting a lot of help from support, seeing you are selling illegal digital download copies of actual books, written by famous authors.
Etsy does not like such flagrant site policy and legal violations.
If you were asking them why some of your items were removed, stealing others' IP is the reason.
Plus, you are not telling the truth about your real location.
Also using Etsy's IP as their profile pic to respond to buyers.
If you want to understand how Etsy works, you need to read their policies on what can be sold here. Everything in your shop is problematic. You are using trademarked properties like Harry Potter, so that will get your shop shut down for IP infringement. If you see other shops selling similar character art, they are also infringing & just haven't been caught yet.
"plus some products were flagged as copyrighted even if a lot of stores are selling the same products on the platform , am not here to claim my earnings only , but to understand how etsy works ! "
Thanks for your helpful answer , it's very nice to hear those kind of replies that aims to make etsy a good world , not making oothers carrier worse. i've been attacked on my post like i've done a big mistake , it's happening , am not selling trash or blank products or lies , i violated some IP without my knowing that , and am working on it .
Again best regard and best luck to you
You may not be getting paid because your shop is full of trademarked books. A BIG no no. i advise you to clean up your shop before it gets permanently closed. It doesn't matter if others are selling the same thing. They just haven't been caught yet.
And you already have one infringement take down, so you are on the radar.
Tahnk you soo much for your reply , yes am working with the team for correcting the mistakes , am a newbie here so am not aware of that would be and infrigment of the IP of some authors , am a big fan of Jk Rowling , i thought digital products are not concerned seen people selling this normally for years on the platform. again am very thankfull for your answer
all the best for you
A lot of your post makes no sense but it seems YOU are on Payment reserve since you mention "they" send you a very small amount of your sales minus the fees.
As a new seller, Etsy holds your money for 14-20 days PLUS since you're new, you were put on payment reserve which means Etsy HOLDS part of your money for a given # of days.
More info:
https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058722214-What-is-a-Payment-Account-Reserve-
If a Payment account reserve is placed on a seller’s account, a percentage of their sales is set aside on a rolling basis.
Etsy may apply a Payment account reserve to your shop if you’re new to selling on Etsy and haven't yet established a track record on the marketplace. We may also apply a reserve if we determine there is potential risk in your transactions, based on a number of risk factors.
Then I took a peek in your shop and noticed you have a LOT of risk factors that include NOT following the rules and selling things that are not allowed here, like counterfeit copies. NO wonder Etsy is not trying to help you because you are breaking the rules.
I noticed you have "Designed BY" on your items. You did NOT design The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or all those others.
Designed BY means YOU designed it (not someone else) and a production partner ONLY makes that item for you.

You might want to read the info on the help pages:
https://www.etsy.com/legal/prohibited
Especially this part under #5:
Unauthorized replicas or copies of items, and patterns or designs enabling their creation, are prohibited on Etsy. We consider counterfeit or unauthorized goods to be items that imitate an authentic good, particularly by using a brand’s name, logo, or protected design without the brand owner’s consent. Additionally, we may consider up-cycled or re-purposed items, even if using authentic materials, to be counterfeit if they are making use of a brand's name, logo, or protected design without their permission. Examples of prohibited counterfeit or unauthorized goods include replica luxury and non-luxury items like bags and branded apparel.
Thanks for your serious and helpful answer , actually we fixed this problem after all , the IP problem wasn't the big problem , i only received hate from some people on this comments becasue of some cringing redflags seen i was angry and writted this post against the quality of the service ,i fixed the necessary actions
Thanks again for being friendly and helpful
@TheFenixcrafter
You have NOT fixed the problem.
You still have digital downloads of "audio" books of famous authors, Keri Lake is one listing, you have 3 others that are also infringing.
YOU did NOT design those books, you had no part in writing those books.
You cannot claim "designed" by, you can't even sell them here.
You wrote "actually we can't identify which products are copyrighted especially for newbies like me".
This is NO excuse.
Why can't you identify those products? That should be extremely easy.
Famous books/authors, brand names, cartoons, famous movies, sports teams, etc you can't sell as "designed by" or "made by" without permission because those rights belong to the people that wrote or came up with those brand names, you did NOT.
You can't use a brand name or famous name to sell items you make or design, that's infringing on their trademarks.
Got now they are all good. Again thanks
@TheFenixcrafter
NO it's not good you still have items infringing on trademarks, Harry Potter tote bag, those "audio" books.
I don't know what part of you can NOT used famous names, movie characters, authors names to sell your items.
ALL those items are considered counterfeit, you're stealing from the trademark holder and could get shut down from
Etsy forever and worse, get sued by the trademark holders.
You did NOT design any of those items.
And the "audio" book by Stephen King you have "designed by" you and then you have VINTAGE from the 1980's.
An audio book that you made a copy of (stealing) is NOT vintage nor designed by you.
Seems you didn't bother to read what designed by means on my other posts.
You're also stealing Etsy's IP in your seller profile pic.
Hello , no i asked if it's wrong but it's not obviously i violate some IPs that am not aware of , am new on etsy selling ! thanks tho
A good rule of thumb is, If someone else designs it, is famous, you need permission, usually pay a fee get a license ie sports teams, books movies, If you say you created it, but it was designed originally by someone else its IP infringement and illegal not just here but anywhere
No one is going to call you. Stop stealing other’s people’s creations.
Thanks for your reply , actually it would be appreciated to advise not to warn ! Am new at selling here and you need also to make a search for people that selling this on etsy also ! that's why i did the same ! as a startup i need advices and directions to avoid copyrighted products , it's a mistake and all those replies are very helpful. but not in the good way , it was very toxic actually accusing me of stealing !thanks btw
@TheFenixcrafter: You may want to take some time and read all of the rules about what you can and cannot sell on Etsy and also what is illegal to sell anywhere. Using what others are selling as justification for what you are doing is the absolute worst way to keep your shop is Etsy-legal.
"... it was very toxic actually accusing me of stealing ..." You may consider the comments toxic but even if you did it inadvertently intellectual property infringement is theft of someone else's work and property.
You could start with reading the Etsy prohibitions about using their logo in your profile image https://www.etsy.com/legal/trademarks and https://www.etsy.com/legal/trademarks-examples/
@BagmakerSupply Hello and thanks for interacting , actually we can't identify which products are copyrighted especially for newbies like me , i asked the etsy team to verify which are the copyrighted products on my store ,they couldnt do it easly , they escalate it to another team that would take days to answer me , and i can't make a move basing on some comments , as if you were in my place (not being aware of the mistake you've done) you would not consider toxic replies as solutions , but just some toxic people loves to spread their hate or racism ( am not a drama queen ) but this is the reality and you can affirm that people not helping and only criticizing are not friendly at all , especially when they focus on some stupid redflags . By the way you are one of the best examples of Members aiming to provide solutions to members and the platform . best regards and respect to you
Racism. Really?
FFS
You are lying every second you have a shop open.
You are not in the United States
You do not have the rights to sell works that you didn't write. That includes making them into a digital product.
You are absolutely right, you haven't gotten much help. We are not allowed to help those that break Etsy's rules and even more so when the person is breaking the law.
"it was very toxic actually accusing me of stealing"
Uhm. Right. But that's what you are doing. If you think it's just fine and dandy to steal the works from authors that worked their asses off to get where they are, by all means, carry on.
Perhaps Etsy isn't the right place for you but you do you.
I'm sorry, I know that isn't what you were wanting to hear.
@TheFenixcrafter: "... i asked the etsy team to verify which are the copyrighted products on my store ..." This is NOT Etsy's responsibility (and could be construed as giving legal advice) it is YOUR responsibility and they are not going to tell you, they are going to deactivate listings and eventually close your shop.
It is not Etsy's responsibility to critique your shop, it is your responsibility to read all of the rules to determine what is Etsy-legal and what is legal overall before you list an item.
"... we can't identify which products are copyrighted ..." The question to ask yourself before you put up a listing is why you think you have the right to sell a given item such as an audio book of someone else's published book. Since Etsy does not allow selling other people's work (except craft supplies and vintage) most of the time the question of whether or not it copyrighted is often irrelevant.
@BagmakerSupply it's because i saw a lot of people are selling those products on etsy and other platforms , so that's why i've said they are probably free to publish and resell , if i was aware of how copyrights work , i would not have done this mistake for real , there best sellers better than this worls but they are not free to publish , you can find this everywhere with cheaper prices or even for free. So i should not be blamed for not knowing , a bonus for you , NOBODY is reading long policies files and pages and let's be realistica , you need to be informed or have this information before selling on etsy or like me , facing a similar problem to learn ! My bad and thanks again !
Your one review is for something that was already removed and your 25 sales page shows only 3 items. How many of your illegal downloads have already been removed? How many more will be deactivated sooner or later?
Keep selling things you have no right to and it's a reason for Etsy to keep you on a Reserve for much longer than usual. That is, until they close your shop down completely. Life won't be so good then.
Did the friends who recommended you sell here also recommend stealing well known authors' work?
Hello all thanks for your reply , i apologize for this cringing situation , i accept your serious and also toxic reply , am new selling here and as did my research and found out that people are selling the same products , i start selling also same listings , i accept accusing me to steal because i didnt go deeper in my searches to see that some digital products are illegal to sell , instead customer service should explain to me the situation before it goes that far
again , thanks
You state you designed Lord of the Rings
you didn't. it's IP infringement and illegal
You don't need a phone call, you need to stop trying to profit from other peoples trademarks
