You will have to run a free shipping sale with a minimum of $50.  You will also have to turn off the Free Shipping Guarantee for $35 as that will override any free shipping sale you set up.

you just have to set it up to apply a shop coupon. You don't get the Etsy 'free shipping' icon, however.

A coupon won't do much good as you have to give out the code before it can be used.  A sale is automatic.

If you go into my shop and put something in your cart...it will pop up to tell you that you could get free shipping.

First, make sure you turn off the Free Shipping Guarantee, because if still on that will override anything else you tell it to charge. 

Then create a sale, with free shipping, and set your minimum amount. Mine is set to $50, and that's how I did it.

Etsy has recently changed the ability to set this sort of sale ... there is no longer any way to set a minimum price for free shipping via the SALE feature ... it is now only available via the PROMO CODE feature, which defeats the entire purpose of having it automatically calculated at checkout.  Etsy's new feature to "encourage bigger orders" doesn't even have a way to set a minimum amount for free shipping.  Guess we're stuck with the $35 FSG.

@patontheback  Like usual, Etsy did not inform us of this change.  Some sellers say it must be a test because they still have the ability to set FS w/ minimum amount via the Sale page.  But just as many more sellers say they can no longer do so.  It may very well be a change rolling out in various stages.  Either way, it's quite frustrating when a feature is taken away and replaced with another feature that doesn't work as desired.

I had this "change" in 3 of 5 Shops all last week. Then the 4th Shop changed on Friday. This morning, my l5th Shop changed as well.

Has anyone else noticed that there is now no way to set a $ Spend Minimum or a set $ Discount?

Over the last week/s week, Etsy began to roll out unanounced changes to "Sales and Discounts". Previously, "Run a Sale" had the functionality to offer Free Shipping with Minimum $ value or # of Items or ree Shipping combined with a % or $ Discount

There are now 2 different Processes

"Run a Sale" is now limited to Free Shipping or % Discount with NO Order Minimum $ or #. Sellers can still give "Run a Sale" promotions a distinctive name

"Encourage Bigger Orders" is now a separate process for those wanting to set Order "Minimum Item Amount" Discounts. It is not possible to offer "Free Shipping" or "Minimum Spend Amount" Discounts , but this process does allow % Discount With Order Minimum Item Amount. With this Sale Sellers cannot give a Name to their Sale/s

There are 2 serious flaws in this new process

1) "Encourage Bigger Orders" creates a name for the Order which is a random combination of letters and numerals. If a Seller has more than one Sale Event set up using "Encourage Bigger Orders", it is now impossible to determine which one is wnich at a glance should a Seller wish to end or ammend the Sale Event.

2) "Free Shipping" cannot be combined with Minimum Order Value or Spend Conditions

Personally, I can see no benefits resultant of this change and wonder why Etsy saw for to tinker with one of the few system processes that was working well as it was.
