I lost my Star Seller status for October solely because of errors on etsy’s part.
My on-time shipping is 100%. For October Star Seller, etsy shows it as 92%.
I downloaded the Shipping Stats spreadsheet used to calculate October Star Seller to see why my account wasn’t showing 100% on-time shipping.
I found 3 errors in etsy’s calculations:
#1 I received an order on Sunday, September 4th and shipped it on Tuesday, September 6th—this was the first possible shipping day since receiving the order. There was no USPS or UPS service on Labor Day September 5th. Etsy, however, COUNTED LABOR DAY, September 5th AS A BUSINESS DAY and, hence, marked my order as shipped late.
#2 and #3 I had 2 orders on September 29th that were shipped on time on September 30th. Tracking on etsy’s own website shows that labels for these 2 orders were created on September 30th and in USPS possession on September 30th. Here’s the error: etsy’s shipping stats used for calculating Star Seller has no date whatsoever listed under “Tracking/Label Date” for these 2 orders. Having this column blank with no date caused etsy to mark them as “no” under “Shipped on time” for these orders.
3 of my 39 orders for July through September were marked as not shipped on time because of the errors detailed above.
So frustrating that there is no way to appeal this because I have indeed shipped 100% on time.

1. etsy doesn't take holidays into consideration. it is up to the seller to change either the processing times on the listings to accommodate holidays or the ship by date on the order when such holidays prevent you from fulfilling the order.
@BulldogVintageFinds: "#2 and #3 I had 2 orders on September 29th that were shipped on time on September 30th." First, you may have entered the dreaded time zone trap. It seems that Etsy uses UTC for most things, but many "reports" are based on your time zone. September 30 to you may be October 1 to Etsy. Have the packages been scanned? Etsy has said (and it is our experience) that a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file correctly shows tracking and shipment status.
Secondly, looking at other posts in this forum it seems that the last few days of a month routinely get rolled into the next month when doing Star Seller calculations.
Sounds like you have processing set to 1 day. Changing to 1-3 days would probably have solved all your issues.
After being a consistent Star Seller for over a year, I have now just lost my Star Seller status. Similar to issues listed by BulldogVintageFinds, I am frustrated that Etsy's tech errors are causing sellers to lose their hard-earned Star Seller Badge.
I had already called Etsy once regarding the tracking info not appearing for 24 - 48 hours AFTER I had completed the order with tracking info. Now, because I shipped 3 orders on 10/31 and the tracking info did not update until after October, Etsy's tech error has caused me to lose my Star Seller badge.
After being on the phone with "Athena" at Etsy for a half hour and her admitting that this was not my fault, nothing is still resolved. The engineering team is "looking into this issue" and is apparently the only entity that can reverse my Star Seller status. This is by far the most outrageous issue I have dealt with Etsy--and since the start of Nov I have seen a loss of revenue in my shop when this is usually the best time for sales.
@DreamsandShadowlands: Based on our analysis of the CSV files, it appears that orders are assigned to the month that they are scheduled to ship by (not when they were placed or shipped) and messages are assigned to the month that the 24 hour reply window ends (not when the message was received or answered). And dates are determined by UTC not the sellers timezone.
