Been selling on Etsy for over 16 years and received my first removed listing for violations. I received a generic response to check various seller policies etc... The item was handmade by me and then photographed by me and has been selling for a number of years without any problems. It doesn't feel acceptable that although I own the copyrights of the images that I cannot relist the item.
Advice most welcome...
It means that Etsy found your photo on a wholesale website like Temu or Shein or Aliexpress. They have programmed bots to compare photos on Etsy to elsewhere on the web and issue take downs when they find them.
Do you do regular checks to insure that your photos haven't been stolen?
I suggest checking the photos from the affected listing and if they have been stolen, issuing the appropriate take downs before contacting Etsy for reinstatement.
There are definitely people copying your designs, or at least using the very same fabrics you are:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Handmade-Clarke-Pastel-Scandi-Cushion/dp/B01N7ZYZ5N
I'm guessing that you are a victim of photo theft. Find the culprit and use the DCMA process to get the stolen photos removed from wherever they are listed.
Unfortunately, Etsy bots can't tell who the thief is and who the victim is.
And another thought, are you selling your items elsewhere. If so, might be a good idea to use different photos for different venues.
Your images have been stolen, other listings could be at risk.
I only searched one of your listing and a seller from China is selling your cushions on Amazon.co.uk. If one of your listings has been stolen, the chances are more have been.
You will have to start issuing take downs as the bots are searching images online to compare
Just wondering if the removed listings used 'shabby chic'. That's a TM'd phrase.
No it doesn't use shabby chic as a term.
@CoupleHome those two words together are literally in your titles.
For the 2 listings that have violated etsy's creative standards I haven't used shabby chic. I have only used the standard sort of terms like decorative pillow cover, orange cushion cover etc...
Thank you for the replies.
I have found a website selling items based on my photos and issued a dmca to shopify who have removed them. However, I updated this to etsy via support ticket but have not received any reply for over 2 days. Is there a place on etsy where I will get a response instead of help center?
reply to your ticket you still need help
from your dashboard
help - contact us
avitar top right
click - my support requests
then reply - do it once a day
do not open another, or try anything else, or that ticket will be closed, and the new one starts at the bottom of the queue
thanks for the advice. I will try it everyday.
crikey it seems my shop will be suspended before i get any response then...
I have already sent them the dmca takedown notices, but just now, I have sent them the original raw files (.CR2) of both listings. Hopefully that will be enough evidence to prove the images are my copyrights. Hopefully they will reinstate both listings and also my star seller status and badges.
