Hello, I've had my Etsy account for several months now, which I only access from a laptop dedicated to this task. I never had any problems signing in regardless of how many multiple tabs I open or how fast I'm browsing.

Today however I got a captcha puzzle screen that even when I verify correctly it says I'm blocked. This is the first time it happens, I only have this connection to access my shop and I'm currently unable to.

Are you using a VPN or Onion Router? Etsy doesn't like those so if you are, try turning it off and see.

Those captha things are SO annoying!!

I removed the location today as I did not see initially that it was required only to have the shop listed in local searches.

I was making changes to the shops page like profile image when the block happened. 

I have a video creating one of the new listings I was about to upload. I update each section when I have the inspiration to.

I went through a period when the reCAPTCHA's on Etsy were literally preventing me from accessing my store for hours at a time.

Prior to that, I rarely had to do a reCAPTCHA on Etsy. I tried different browers, resetting my wireless router, clearing my cache, rebooting my PC.

The pesky, unsolvable, reCAPTCHA's continued for about a week and then disappeared.

I use my computer from my home the vast majority of the time. I still have no idea why I was being constantly challenged for a week or so and whether anything I did to fix it had an impact.

Oddly, my husband regularly logs into my Etsy account and frequently gets reCAPTchas. During the period I was getting challenged, he wasn't. It felt like there could only be one person logging in easily.

I had this problem on Firefox. It was awful, taking forever to get into my shop. I cleaned my cache and rebooted and it went away.

I tried again after about an hour, I managed to login but now another hour later I got the same error again so honestly idk what's happening.

Once I sign in to Etsy I STAY signed in--the only time I am signed out is if I need to clear my cache. (Or if I am leaving the house for an extended time)

If you sign out each day or whenever, see if you can simply stay signed in.

@FractalsInChaos: Every time you go to a page protected by reCaptcha it calculates a score - if that score is below the threshold set by the hosting site (in this case Etsy) it starts the reCaptcha image cycle until Google is satisfied that you are a human.

While Google does not share its magic recipe for how it calculates your score there are some known factors: the reputation of your IP address, if you are using a VPN, what browser you are using, if your browser is blocking tracking, what extensions are on your browser, whether or not you are currently logged into Google, viruses or malware on your computer or modem, if you are using a proxy server, your search history, your cookies, etc etc etc. Sometimes it is as simple as your browser not sending enough information and that is why doing a page refresh occasionally works.
