Hi all,

 

Just had a buyer tell me they could not check out, after checking I see that all my products have this note on them with no option to add to cart:

 

"You can browse, but we're unable to process purchases at the moment. Try again in a bit."

 

Is anyone else having this issue? I see this happened again in January this year, I will contact Etsy for support but would love to hear from anyone if you know how to fix this.

I just want to add that I have been through a few listings and this message is showing on about half of my listings, not all.

 

Any ideas?

I've seen this from time to time - it never lasts, and really is a momentary glitch.  Trying again later, as suggested, usually works.

Thank you for your reply, I do hope its momentary, took me by surprise, in all my years its the first time I have seen this in my store.

I had it happen few years back and it lasted 3 MONTHS!

Looking back through the forums this is evident as there was a post from January and then there are a few more times after that.

@SNdsigns OK - I thought you mean't that you were somehow able to look back through your shop and see that it happened to you in January also.

The only time I've ever seen it is when I'm looking at my own items from the shop view.

A customer who was trying to purchase let me know otherwise I would not have been aware of this.

I've just been trying to publish a listing...and Etsy won't let me!!! said 'check inventory' when all fields have been checked and correct. I have a customer hanging on waiting for this item as well...arrrrggghhhh!!!!

@Signe60 did you get this fixed yet?

The check inventory error shows up when one of your Attributes is checked for "more than one" and you don't have a corresponding Variation for that .

I JUST got off the phone with Etsy support for the second time today.  Was wondering why my pumpkins hadn't sold.  The first time was for my pumpkin soaps which are a BIG seller.  Then I noticed how many hours later it is giving me the same message for my skull soaps which are another BIG seller.  OMG!  I'm so frustrated.  I had this happen 2.5 years ago and it affected all my big sellers that spring.  Sales TANKED for three months and mysteriously one day everything was back to normal (AFTER the holiday)!!!  Praying Etsy figures it out and gets it fixed asap.

Thank you for your reply, I am sorry this happened to you for such a long period, its frustrating to not know if or when it will be fixed.  This is terrible, I really hope this isn't some form of capping of our popular items?  I have contacted support, they said they are going to pass the details on to tech to see if they can see what's going on.

Normally I would just let it be, but I've been through this with them before and it didn't get resolved for such a long time it has me worried the same thing is going to happen.

Maybe Etsy is just glitchy today, seems like there are many issues when I glance over the forums.

This is definitely a glitch, I am refreshing some of the items that have this message and they are then back to normal, refreshing only works on some of the listings. 

This item has the message all the time, won't go away.

I clicked on your first listing link, chose color and dimensions then personalization and was able to add to my cart.  So for me that is working....

 

Etsy moderators check the forums but I don't know about programmers or the technical folks.

I now have it on four of my BIG sellers and on one other fall listing but on that one only it comes and goes when I refresh the page.  I even tried deactivating the listings and when I activate them again the error message is still there.

I just clicked on your skull soap in the Featured section, chose color and scent and was able to add it to my cart.  I removed it...  but I'm using Edge browser on Windows10 laptop.  Not sure if the browser, OS, or device might make a difference....

It looks like the listings have all been fixed.  All seems to be working now.  Knock on wood.

I have just got an email from the tech team, they were looking into the glitch with all the info I provided and I think it is fixed as all the listing that had issues can now be added to cart.

I still can't publish my listing..after waiting 2 hours. Just tried it again..still won't have it! ugh. keeps saying 'fix inventory' when it IS fixed and the price has been added : (
