Wrong State showing on Google Map for posting an order

Every time I post an order, on the email I get from Etsy it shows that the parcel is being sent from Tasmania, when I moved to NSW over 9 months ago and changed every single area within Etsy and on my account with Google that I moved.  I have had queries from customers asking why it's showing the wrong State. I've asked about this before and every single suggestion I have done or checked. There is literally no where else for me to change my address, so there is a glitch somewhere!   I would appreciate it if this could be fixed.  I can sent a copy of the email with the google map location if needed to get this fixed please!!

Thank you

PS tried to get a real person but the Help section just goes round and round with options and no actual link to somewhere I can actually talk to someone!  NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, they're all generic random "stab points" whichever country you're in. For the UK I get the pin point stabbed somewhere in the Leeds area, a town more than half the length of the country away from where I am.

It's just a "fluffy" to add interest to the dispatch emails, nothing more.

Re: Wrong State showing on Google Map for posting an order

It's annoying though eh?  I think I must be a bit OCD LOL.  I even went to the mapping company (link under the picture of the map) and they don't even have large sections of my town mapped!  I ended up sending them a complaint. Of course it's an American mapping company so Tas and NSW are all in Aus so must be OK hahahaha.   I've given up now.

Re: Wrong State showing on Google Map for posting an order

@StephsQuilts - There's a few reasons that could happen.

One is that there might be a suburb with the same name in Tasmania.  I've had it happen when sending to a buyer and I've sent them a note saying their order is definitely shipped to Queensland even though the map is pin-pointing Victoria for instance. It's frustrating but thankfully doesn't happen too often.

Another reason might be that the mapping company actually has a location pin-pointed incorrectly.  I've had that happen before. The maps are provided by a company called OpenStreetMap. If you have the shipping option ticked to send you a copy of the dispatch email take a look at it and under the map there is a little grey link that says "Improve this map".  That link used to open up a form and in years gone by I've had them correct a few locations. Unfortunately when I've just tested it it just seems to open up the map and I can't see how to provide feedback to them. But perhaps if you search for the name of your suburb you will see what pops up?

If you use shipping profiles for your listings, I suggest going in there to edit them and check that the "Origin post code" is your correct postcode. I think Etsy recently started requiring that for Australian sellers and mine at least had defaulted to somewhere else entirely so I had to add my postcode to each shipping profile.

Thanks, it's the mapping company who are wrong.  I've contacted them and crossing fingers something will be done but not holding my breath!!   I changed and checked every shipping profile when I moved, and under the map it says my actual town name, just not on the map itself.
