Considering all the time and effort Etsy puts into tweaking the site and changing the interface, one would think that someone would have fixed the algorithm that every single day sends me an email showing me my own listings as "finds" for me to buy! Am I the only one who gets emails like this?
It's based on what you search for. If you are checking out your competition, it thinks you would like to see those items.
Etsy shows you what you look at the most, if your’e working on your shop you get your own items, unfortunately. They don’t differentiate between your own and someone else’s. I get them too.
Because you are looking at your own listings.
You have cookies on your computer for your own items because it's close to impossible to not look at our own listings.
It's possible etsy could filter our own listings out but it could also be impossible. If they could do it, it might not make financial sense. Etsy is a business so if it doesn't make financial sense, they just aren't going to do it.
I get them too.
Question: Is the algorithm dumb?
I frequently get emails that show my own items. "Ready, Set, Heart. Fav these items we know you will love" kind of thing. They are my own items:) I just received another one of those today.
Got one as well the other day, except that Etsy does not allow us sellers to favorite items in their own shop. That is the irony & absurdity of receiving these communications.
I get these e-mails too.
It is because we look at our products.
It doesn’t bother me, because as I get these e-mails, other people that look at my products will get them too.
Happens to me all the time. One of the many reasons why I don't trust computers "thinking" for themselves.
I unsubscribed from these emails.
Does anybody need them? What for?
They annoy me...!
