I have several listings for the same type of Hair Stick items that have a dropdown for a customer to select quantities while similar items have none ( while I have more than one item available in both listings ) ?
I've been told that they can select more in the cart....but since I am the seller Etsy will not allow me to click on my own cart to check ?
I have had customers ask about not being able to select more than one and Etsy questions said there was a drop down and I needed to clean my cache...which I did and it did not work...but it did screw up a bunch of my other sites !!
Why can I not look at my own cart ?
Why can I not have the same type of listing information on similar products......?
If someone could help me please go to my front page at https://www.etsy.com/shop/OverTheHawaiianMoon? and go to the bottom of my list of items called Teak, other hair sticks and look at some of those listings to see if you find any listings where you do not have a drop down menu where you can select more than one item ....
At this point I need to know if I have to re-list all of these again or how else to fix this without clearing all of my cache...I thought I cleared Etsy cache but whatever I did it screwed up my Duolingo Language site and I lost everything.
The answer is simple- Etsy decided that items over $20 USD will not show the quantity until after adding to cart.
The reason evades me.
I hate this, it's pointless and nonsensical. I have yet to see any possible benefit this is to Etsy. And it's been this way for a couple of years.
@OverTheHawaiianMoon there is nothing to be done about it, and we have to explain this to our Buyers - it makes us look bad - especially when Etsy slaps on the "only three left!" Alert, and there is no quantity. Who knows how many Buyers just leave our shops, when they don't see the quantity available.
Thanks for the answer ... Etsy gave me a bunch of garbage answer and told me to clear my cache and it would show the drop down...well it did not.
I agree with you that this is a stupid idea. I use that drop down to check inventory of listings real easy instead of having to go edit the listing.....I complained about this before to no avail.....to this day I still do not know what my cart looks like also.....I have not figured why I can not look at the cart and at least see what Etsy is telling customers but not sellers !!
I really think Etsy is more interested in their stock then their sellers.....They made these great purchases of these Stores the other year and then last year they wrote off over 100 Million to write down the value of their purchases.
Log out and go to your shop. you're now browsing it like a buyer would.
Open a private / incognito browser window, and do not log in.
That way you don't have to log out on your normal browser (or log back in afterwards), or worry about messing up your user settings.
A normal browser window will store logged-out user settings and search history in cookies. A private / incognito browser window will start as a completely new user, with default region settings and no search history, and it erases all cookies at the end of the session so any changed settings and browser session search history will be forgotten.
It is very useful for search testing without bias from your search history.
