Not sure if this is a bug or what, but why does etsy seem to keep the same sellers in tests constantly, we can tell when were in a test sales generally go insane or tank, and yet again this weekend were brought into another test by the looks of things and sales tanked, never have such low sales the start of the month and generally about to give up with etsy.
And for those who say how do you know your in a test sometimes there easy to spot other times not so much, but this one was very easy to work out. Its getting beyond infuriating
Particular shops are not in the tests, it is users that are in the tests.
Etsy are running about 50 tests at any time, so it is likely that all the sellers who are perpetually logged in are going to be in one of the test groups, even if it is for a test of something that they never look at or use.

Hi, I don't think I'm fully aware of every test my account is in. But some are obvious. Such as moving the Description (from the Right Column to collapsing it over on the Left, under the photo). Or the truncated Title test (Titles chopped off after the first comma or special character); thankfully that one hasn't reared its ugly head in a while. But those are just a couple of examples.
Etsy constantly does live testing. Years ago, they used to have a specific page which listed the tests. But they did away with that. I do think test upon test and so forth (especially tests which don't make sense), can have a negative impact. I sometimes wonder what Buyers think when they see things one way, then come back the next and things are different (like when someone moves the furniture around in the house. You go to sit down in the dark, and plop...the chair isn't there:)
Yup there are several tests i've known i've been apart but whatever group i'm in at the moment has to be the worst type of test, really wish they would stop messing about with stores so much, go test your own employees stores and stop messing about with peoples livelyhood, starting to get worse than ebay for tests
Shops are not in tests. Users are in tests. Most users don't see the changes that you see in your shop if you're in a test and seeing something unusual.
When I check my daily stats, there is that blue BETA word opposite my Shopper Stat. Does it mean I am on a test? I don't participate in any sales event or promote any ad, and no social media whatsoever.
I see what you mean. I forgot it says "Beta" at the top of the Stats. It shows things like Favs, Repeat Buyer, Cities, Abandoned Carts, etc. All of mine says 0 right now (Shop on Vacation). When I first saw this, I believed it to be something newly added to Stats, and that Etsy rolled out to everyone (rather than a test for some people). I still have this.
Beta means that it is not a final version, it is still being developed. This is why there is a "is this helpful?" question at the bottom right. They want user feedback to finalise it.
