I need to know which rep code my customers are using so I know if they need a special freebie. There is no way to tell this unless i drill down into the order manually.... I need to see it on the order that I tap on when notifying on my phone, and I need to see it on the print order receipt option. It just says SHOP DISCOUNT...and nothing else. The rep code USED to show up... why would that be omitted now? Does anyone else SEE theirs? Also why is there not a way to attach a screen cap in these posts??
@PlanItDarbi: When you say "on my phone" do you mean the app or a mobile browser? We still see the actual coupon / discount code when looking at an order using a (desktop) browser.
Sorry -- this is why I'd love to be able to attach a screen cap. The discount code is only viewable if I am on desktop and tap multiple times to the order. If I am filling orders off of the order receipts on desktop or packing slips.... even on desktop but also on app....I can't see what discount code they are using. If I use the app, I have to open the order, scroll and tap buyer receipt and it will show the code being used. But on desktop -- it doesn't show. In email, it doesn't show. Why is this info suddenly being gatekept? When on my desktop, the only time that I can see what discount code was used, I have to open orders, drilling down into the order. It should be AT MINIMUM viewable from the invoices... to fill sticker orders, I print open orders to PDF and go order by order on my iPad. (Not using the Etsy app -- using the pdf, so I can mark things off. Don't get me started on my feelings about how they don't have a better interface for "fulfill on demand" shops that aren't just packing orders but have to create mass orders at once.
anyway -/ the info used to be there and now it's not. So wanted to make sure it wasn't just on my end because I am going to reach out. Every update seems to take control away from me -- and I am already struggling with listings not expiring when they are supposed to and with all my stats being wrong (ex: they show 0 lifetime sales when they are my best sellers).
Not sure if it shows on the app, but all of the discount codes applied show up on the orders page right next to the customer's username.
I think it may be because there are so many different possibilities they just say discount. Mine the other day did say what it was but it was but I was not viewing via the app. It did say on the order and when I print a CSV file at month end it does detail the type of discount.
Warning -/ I am responding through mobile and the window of text field is the size of my pinky so i can't see text that I am typing after I write a sentence. Anyway The information used to be there, I've had my shop for three years and I have been using that information so I know what freebie to put in customer orders. It also helps me know if a certain post with a sale code is actually working… I should not have to drill down further to see which orders are using What codes… It should come up immediately on every order Without having to tap three times and especially when I've gotten used to doing it a certain way… to change it and not have it be LESS work (it is now more inefficient), just boggles my mind. But it seems to be the Etsy way.
Lol..the sku doesn't even show up on the packing slips..that I use to pull and pack. I have to put hints in the titles to know what to pull from inventory shelves. N1 L3 S135..To me that is more important than what code they used but it has never been there in what..15 years?
That sounds really frustrating!
Have you checked the full order details on a desktop? Sometimes, extra info is visible there that’s missing on mobile. If it's truly gone, maybe reaching out to Etsy support would help—if enough sellers report this, they might bring it back!
And yes, I totally agree about the missing screenshot option—it would be so much easier to show issues instead of just explaining them!
It still does, though on the app and a phone they may have decided there wasn't room. On a desk top I always see the code. Just got an order an hour or two ago that showed it, both on the order notification and on the invoice when I opened it up.
You can check the Details and Stats on you Sales and Discounts page to see how many coupons were sent of each kind and how many were used. If you check it regularly, and note it some where, then you can figure out the exact discount when a new sale comes in.
Yeah, that's not helpful unless I am trying to crunch numbers. When I get an influx of sales… I would like to just see when I open that order if it's coming from my Facebook post or the Instagram… I also need the codes in order to figure out what freebie to put in their order. If they're using my newsletter code, then I need to give them a certain freebie and if they're using a rep code, I need to give them a certain freebie. But there's no way to do that now unless I tap multiple times on the desktop, and on the phone, I have to tap three times. It should be something you just open and see. Because that's the way it was before. So I'm just trying to figure out what would make sense as to why they would do that… Why take more information away from us… Why put shop discount on there? There are technically different shop discounts that could be applied? Again, if this had always been the way, then I would just get used to it like all the other horrible parts of Etsy, Such as all of my stats are incorrect, despite having reached out to their customer service seven times in 18 months about it. Also of my 500 listings, two of them should be already expired… But they're not… I never know which ones are actually going to expire and which ones will expire so I don't have the time to go through and manually expire stuff. These are parts of what we're paying for with our fees and yet they're taking services away, or just never fulfilling them to begin with. And I'm apologizing because I'm sure parts of this are not written correctly, I cannot go back and edit because the text on this thread is the size of my pinky and the cursor is jumping all over when I try to scroll backwards… I should have done it on my computer, but Once again, the company that wants us to use a certain app makes things impossible to do on the app
@PlanItDarbi It sounds like you have made things very complicated. Perhaps the information is now something you need to tap on.
Frankly I am not fond of the app so I always use the browser even if I use my phone.
@PlanItDarbi I agree that hiding information that used to be easy to find makes no sense. I am irritated that shipping addresses aren't shown as complete anymore on the main shol page.
My suggestion was for a "work-around", as I have had to find those many times when there have been inconvenient changes. 3 taps to find the info is doable.
I don't like the App, and IMO it is worse than the previous one, so I don't use it despite constant pop ups telling me to switch. Plenty of businesses have awful apps(McDonalds), that thy push us to to use, and don't care about "usability".
