Back in May, I sold 2 items to a buyer. Everything went fine with the sale and there are no issues on that front. However, about a month or so ago, I was looking at my current listings in the seller app, and these two items showed up as CURRENT listings along with several inactive items in my two other shops that are currently on vacation and should not have any active listings. I went in and deleted all the listings in the other two shops, and then came back and made these two listings in this shop inactive and then deleted them. Well...the other day I purchased a duplicate of one of these items and went into copy it, but the listing does not exist! It shows up on my order page, but it's not on my sold listings page.
It does not exist on Google AT ALL so I can't find the cached version. I found it on both Duckduckgo and Bing, but there's no cache there. It's easy enough to create a new listing but I'm thinking this should not be happening. I shouldn't be able to delete a sold listing and nor should the app be showing inactive and expired items as active.
I'm more reporting this as a glitch than anything since I can easily work around it and I write down all my research and product information in a notebook (by the way, if you don't, it's a good idea to keep physical notes, especially on vintage items), but if anyone has had this happen or knows how to find a cache of something that appears to never have existed, I would be most appreciative.
I shouldn't be able to delete a sold listing
Of course you can delete a sold listing. Why wouldn't you be able to?
nor should the app be showing inactive and expired items as active.
The app is glitchy.
I know the app is glitchy! That's why I only use it to convo customers and look at the orders screen when I pack up orders. Why Etsy thinks we can run a business with it, I don't know.
As for deleting sold items, I guess it never really occurred to me to try or think it could be done since they are business records.
I assumed I was deleting different listings, since I hadn't listed either item as multiples and had no way of knowing it was the same listing inserting itself back into the shop rather than a duplicate.
I delete all my sold listings because they are vintage and generally one of a kind. I always have to start fresh if I want to list a similar item. I use the app for listing, by the way.
If you renew a sold listing and then delete that renewed listing, the sold listing is also gone. Some sellers do that on purpose to totally hide their sold listings.
hmm tricky..I just hide my solds..but they are out there on "the webs."
I feel I have seen the app identify a sold out/inactive listing as active in the listing "roll" but when I clicked on it it was not active. Freaked me out with vintage items as WTF! The app is crap. Not sure the new is much better (but I can upload pix on the app way faster than my PC. I load them to draft and finish it on my PC. Just got an Ipad so that may end run that issue too).
The app is crap
__________
YES.
Ok, so I now realize we can delete sold listings, but the fact that they showed up as new unsold listings is the part I wanted to focus on more than anything. How does that happen? If you sell vintage, you know what a disaster this can be.
