When did my shop banner dissappear?
I've been toying with the idea of updating my shop banner. I was wanting to see my shop front, when logged out...how customers would see it.
But no shop banner when logged out? In fact, I'm not seeing anyone's shop banners when logged out.
What the heck? What is anyone else seeing (or not seeing) when logged out?
(Chrome on desktop)
I'm seeing your banner, but I'm logged in.
On my desktop, in Chrome, when not logged in, no banner.
On my Android phone, Chrome, entering via the web, but not logged in, it is there.
I tried Firefox, not logged in, and both banners are showing, yours and mine.
That is weird that it depends on the browser.
I usually use Safari.
So it appears to be a Chrome issue?
Thanks! Yes it's looking like an issue with Chrome, on desktop.
I am seeing your banner, but the settings are all wrong. It is set to a small banner and not large, so half is cut off.
Using Chrome on Desktop
Well that is weird, when I go onto Edge, you have no banner
Also tried Chrome without being logged in.. your banner is gone!
It is like magic but in a bad way.
Maybe they're playing with it, at the very same time we're typing. LOL.
Come on it is nearly weekend, please stop playing with the layout and interface
@PristinityJewelry I'm on Chrome on a desktop. I'm seeing your banner, if it has a blue jewel on it.
@PristinityJewelry I'm in Chrome and see the half banner in your shop too, but my own banner looks normal. If I open an incognito window your banner is there in full while my own is fully missing. More weird, unnecessary tinkering from Etsy while serious technical issues go unaddressed.
I see the banners when clicking through IG, not logged in, and google chrome mobile incognito.
What browser are you using?
Chrome on desktop, logged out.
Your banner is showing using my iMac and Firefox.
I see it on Edge but I am logged in.
I noticed that the other day, when I used an incognito tab. For my own shop, anyways. I just tried it, incognito tab, searched for "amethyst stud earrings" - because I know that's one of your best sellers! Viewing the page, then your shop - I'm seeing your banner!
* checking a few random shops, I'm seeing some with / some without banners - although there's no telling if they even have a banner to begin with. Probably a test.
Were you logged in?
Well this is weird. I'm Signed In, and I see your Banner (desktop computer, Chrome). I opened up Chrome Incognito, and your Banner is gone, just as you said.
I had the same problem days ago, no banner when I was not logged in. I cleared my cache, and now I see my banner logged out or in. I do see your banner.
@op tried safari on phone (not logged in) & it’s there, so as others have mentioned, it’s possibly Chrome.
BTW, beautiful jewelry in your shop!
Also, when not logged in, and not seeing the banner, I'm seeing some extra info instead. Info not normally seen atop pages...such as...
"Last active......"
Like some coding left unhidden.

That new top-of-page info was tested a few weeks ago, and it looks like it's back to stay... maybe? Or being tested some more?
I too find my banners gone when not signed in, and the above-mentioned info in its place.
If you hover over that thing you'll see 3 actions that indicate recent activity, and at the time there was much talk about what, for instance, qualifies as recent activity.
Turns out renewing does not, nor editing or buying a shipping label. There's more, but I forgot.
Also, there were quite a few reported inaccuracies, such as new listings not showing up correctly as far as recent activity date goes.
@leinweberstudio @leinweberstudio
I see this tip text when I hover over it
"This shows when the seller last completed one of these activities
• Made a shop announcement
• Updated their shop policies
• Added an item to their shop"
Another seller mentioned seeing a 4th trigger - Shipped an order.
I really hope they ditch this Latest activity date because I believe it will just confuse the customers, and I don't think we sellers will all agree what the triggers should be.
Thank you, so for some the shipping thing did show up.
I too am not sure yet of what possible interest this info could be for buyers, unless it's to prove there's a reasonably alive, active, and on-top-of-things person behind the shop.
All good things, I guess. We don' want to appear dead, do we, considering there are quite a few shops with announcements last updated years ago, or expired holiday sales notices, etc.
