I don't know if it's my computer or what. It's a new computer, same operating system. It's happened multiple times so it's not a seller issue. I am cleaning up my computer/external hard drive and getting (much
Well that is strange. My svg's never used to give me a preview. I'm still confused so if anyone can explain this to me I'd appreciate it lol
Same here, I thought it was me and I was doing something wrong. I've purchased from several different Etsy shops lately. I know I've spent at least $20 in total with all of them. I know there has been some upgrades with windows and internet explorer etc.. but this is ridicules. It must be across the board. It keeps happening with everything I've downloaded on Etsy. Hang tight, I'm sure they will come up with a solution. I've read that it's happening on other forums.
@CapeCodPaperCuts: If you are using the Windows operating system, this a known issue, depending on how / where the images have been stored and what you are using to view them.
Thank you. I just figured out what works. I logged out of explorer, logged back in, and everything was there. Refreshing doesn't work. The old log out log back in trick.
@SimpleeComplex Explorer is no longer supported or usable mostly. You need to upgrade to Edge.
I use Edge and my operating system is 11 and I have no problems with downloads.
However if any downloads are older than 5 years, they can no longer be downloaded from Etsy. At a certain point ETsy cuts off the ability to download.
I just found out what works: Download files, unzip files if needed, log out of internet explorer, log back in. Images should be there.
From the conversation so far, it sounds like what you are referring to is the thumbnail preview of the PNG image in the downloaded folder, and not the file opened up in photo viewer or a design app. Thumbnail previews do not reflect something broken the with actual file, the thumbnail preview is a re-sized compressed copy of the original image and can often not be a true representation of the actual file’s quality. The black thumbnail indicates a breakdown in the windows program that generates the thumbnail preview. I don’t know why that happens, but it does, and is something for MS to fix. As mentioned already, this is a known issue with MS. It’s annoying, for sure, but does not affect the actual usability of your PNG files. The PNG files will open perfectly in whatever app you use them in.
