I'm trying to shop for some new ceramics to paint and I can't find descriptions. I have to scroll through a bunch of nonsense and look for the details. Of course, the buy box follows me as I look for the necessary information. And I really don't care about seller feedback. I can read that later if I choose to purchase. I'm just going to Google some ceramic shops because shopping should not be a major chore. When I click on an item that interest me I want the information right there, up front, so I can make a quick decision. I just don't understand why venue changes always seem to make shopping and listing more difficult. Do these people not use their own sites?
I see that happening too but only on my iPad on the web interface. If you use the app or use your phone you see a drop down to view details.
Any idea how we report this to Etsy for them to fix? I don’t believe that the customer ship reviews should come before the item details. It always used to show on the bottom right of the screen below the products description. I am now wetting messages from potential customers asking for items size, etc.. info that is in item details but they don’t see how to view the detail because it is wayyyyyy down the screen after shop reviews
@Littlebirdproductset - nothing to be "fixed" as it is one of their current ridiculous tests. It comes and goes in our shops for now.
Nothing to fix. It is on purpose. Etsy is doing a test experiment to see if this is a good idea. Meanwhile everyones sales are going down because of it.
My question to them is who in their right mind would even in their wildest dreams think this could be a good idea?????
Etsy is doing a test experiment to see if this is a good idea. ... I can tell them right now that it is not a good idea. No testing necessary. Etsy claims reviews are the most important thing to know when buying from a shop. It might be but they are not going to buy until they know what their buying and then they look at the reviews to decide who to buy from.
Meanwhile, it’s a vicious circle…they want good reviews, but they hide pertinent information found in descriptions which leads to bad reviews which leads to fewer sales. Sooooooo counter-productive and soooooo counter-intuitive. I can’t help but think they’re trying to lead the buyer down the page to the “you may also like” section and ramming reviews down buyers’ throats along the way. All the while, they’re setting us up to fail…again.
My question to them is who in their right mind would even in their wildest dreams think this could be a good idea?????
People who don't care because they'll continue getting their paychecks, whether they eff up the site or not.
And another Day without Visitors. Thanks Etsy
@Littlebirdproductset Here is information about Etsy testing if you're interested in reading it from the Sellers Handbook
Or you can try asking about it with Etsy chat and have them copy and paste that for you to read.
I think that was the same guy who changed the pictures to square.
Your caches too full. And I know... your browser isn't freezing, and no issues on other sites. You, like millions of shoppers with fully functioning browsers can't find the descriptions. Etsy will tell you to clear your cache and update it, and they're right... the descriptions will return perfectly in place...but they never fix the actual problem ; that it's unacceptable that their site falls apart when visited by a perfectly working browser.
How many sales are lost annually by unaware buyers?
Apparently Etsy has a very low tolerance for cookies!
I read the Etsy experiment thing but that really has nothing to do with this change. This change is just plain weird so I think it’s a bug. And it is causing me a lot of extra work and sales because customers can’t see the details about my items.
I spoke with chat and they admitted it was a test.
