WHY won't ETSY fix the Featured Listings?

Is there a reason ETSY cannot/will not fix the Featured listings? These used to update instantly, so one could see if the arrangement of the images were desirable. Some years back, whomever was writing the code for the platform created a lengthy time-lag in this area that has not ever been resolved. What was once an easy to use feature, is just another glitchy, time-sucking headache. Hello, ETSY, anyone listening?

Etsy employees don't do the coding. They have contracted coding companies who do that. It's a ridiculous change done by coders who don't have a shop!

We are really a species that wants instant gratification. I don't personally worry about something like that. But I have also noticed that there is frequently a lag when I set up a new listing before it appears as active on Etsy. I switched my featured listing on one and am timing it to see how long it takes to see that change on the customer facing side. 

THE VERDICT IS IN! It took ten minutes for the change in my featured listing to update.

Last time I changed my featureds (less than 2 weeks ago), it was almost instantaneous.  I changed them, then went immediately to my already open home page and refreshed and they were there.  All of the featureds glitchiness I have been experiencing for the last year plus was gone.  I don't have many listings so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

@NoFrogsAllowed  You have 96 listings and I have 80 - I just tried featuring 4 listings and they did not show up. I think you have to do it at just the right time when Etsy is about to index the site.

The first time I used the featured listings, I simply thought it was broken, than 10 min later they appeared, I noticed as well the changes I make on  PC are showing instantly on the phone, and 5 or 10 min later on the computer. I  quite agree with GroundZero ( I don't care

I have noticed a significant time lag as well, but today I replaced 3 out of my 4 featured listings and the change took place immediately. This was a pleasant surprise and a first in a very long time.

 Yes, come one, come all, makes your changes and take your chances. With all these varied experiences then, it's still glitchy!

This hasn't worked in over a year.  I gave up on it.  It really doesn't make a difference since most buyers do not visit shop home pages.

And frankly I find the featured items a nuisance as a buyer.  I don't even look. I scroll down immediately or use the section tab or the text box.

If they don't work for you don't use them.  They work for me.  Last time I changed mine (not the current ones which are just a test to see how glitchy featureds are today) I sold one that hadn't sold in several months twice in 3 days.

I find it very powerful, 3 out of the last 5 sold items were featured I only regret I didn't use it earlier.

Yeah, mine haven't worked for a year.  I chatted with support and they told me the usual B.S., clear my cache, use another browser and so on.  Nothing.  I looked at my shop on other people's devices and iPhones and Androids and nothing.  I wonder if I were to pay for Etsy Plus, something might work?

I noticed today that expired items were featured in my jewelry shop.  Really strange and we are paying for all this.

There used to be a long lag between changing the featured listing and the publishing on my shop, but lately I have found that it's no longer the case. I just adapted the featured listings now and they were visible immediately, so it seems this issue has been solved, al least for some of us.
