Hello everyone,
we were asked by Etsy to upload an identity card to verify our seller info, even though we are a company. Do you have some experience which person's ID should be uploaded here? A company does not has a personal ID, of course...
It is also stipulated here which information should be visible on the identity card. The name of our managing director, the address of the company and the date of birth of a colleague who created the account. That makes absolutely no sense.
We have not received any response from Etsy to our support request for 15 days. I am at a loss. Our store has since been put into vacation mode.
Do you have any advices?
Not sure if it works the same in Germany, regarding a company.
In the Netherlands, my company was registered under my company name, my bank accounts also under the company name.
When I opened a Etsy shop, I had to put my personal name as stated on my ID in the information section, together with my VAT number and company bank details. Even though even this was in my company name, I had to put my full name in these sections and upload my ID.
I never had issues regarding this account or receiving payment.
do we have to have to have a company name
If it is an llc or coprporation you would have a name, even if it is a numbered company
@SonicVibes: "That makes absolutely no sense." Etsy is not known for clearly defining what they need. But keep in mind that "If you sign up as a business, we’ll need to verify your incorporated business information in addition to your personal identity." per https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001980067-How-to-Verify-Your-Seller-Information-for-Etsy-....
Most laws require that a 'responsible' human be verified as well as the business entity.
