I just received a message in my inbox after posting a new product in one of my stores saying that my store has been suspended and I need to scan a code and verify my bank card details. I do not understand why I have to do this as I have already done all the verification with Etsy when I opened the store a few months ago where they deposited an amount in my account and I had to tell them how much they deposited. I received a payment from Etsy last month. Is this something new or is it a scam? The message came from this account - [This content has been removed by Moderation. Hi, Da-n scammers; I'm sorry you were targeted. Scammers have been hitting new Sellers as well as seasoned ones. Oftentimes within seconds after someone lists an item. "Verification" is a popular scam, as well as posing as Etsy Staff/Support, etc. Scanning of QR Codes is another. When you receive a LEGIT Message from Etsy Support/Staff, etc., it will appear in the "From Etsy" Folder (in Messages). If it isn't there, Mark the Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). *"From Etsy" Folder was not on the App until recently (a highlighted blurb on the Message). The thing is, should you not see this first (and be familiar with it), you could receive a scammer's Message beforehand. Also, the App does not allow you to Mark the Message as Spam (you must use a browser instead, or use the Buyer App).
Also for future, many scammers are posing as "Buyers", stating they need your email for an Order. They don't, Etsy already has it. When you receive a LEGIT Order, it will appear in "Orders & Shipping" (Left Column of Shop Dashboard); if it isn't there, you have no Order. Mark the scammer's Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). And never click on links or engage with them.
Etsy should be able to nail these FAKE accounts who are impersonating Etsy Staff/Support, etc. It's happening way too often. For a while now, Sellers have been reporting that legitimate Buyer Messages are being put in "Spam" by Etsy (obviously a glitch to combat the scamming problem). Here is the Announcement about the "From Etsy" Folder (currently this is in past Announcements).

Here is the other Announcement, "Protect Your Account With These Security Tips" (it is now in past Announcements).

Hope this is helpful to you, and may this garbage cease for you and for others.
ETA: You'll want to delete the link in your OP. Otherwise Forum Admins will come along and delete it, so as not to have unsafe links within a post. (We can edit our posts up to an hour afterwards).
@AisnesCreations: "... saying that my store has been suspended ..." If your shop was suspended, when you go to your shop home page all listings would be hidden and replaced by a message put up by Etsy.
As an aside, you should include the licensing information for all of the trademarked and copyrighted names and images in your shop in your listing, otherwise buyers (and Etsy) may conclude they are counterfeits. And maybe also review your licensing agreements to see what you need to include in your listings such as the usually required attributions and disclaimers. Including the licensing information will show that you are not selling those items illegally.
Thank you so much everyone. Really appreciate all the info. I am so sick of scammers. It's so sad that they are now attacking marketplaces like Etsy too. @ChillwolfArt unfortunately I got to read this too late to delete the link but I will remember that for future.
We are all sick of scammers
scammers who try to dupe sellers into giving them money
and sellers who try to dupe buyers in to paying for counterfeit items
they are everywhere
