Hi everyone,
I’ve run into a frustrating issue and I’m hoping someone might have advice on how to resolve it.
I recently tried to update my Etsy account from personal to business. Despite entering correct information, the system didn’t accept it. So, I switched back to a personal account and uploaded all the required verification info, including my ID.
That’s when things got worse—my shop was automatically placed into vacation mode without any clear explanation. The dashboard shows my information is verified and that I’m good to go, yet I’m still in vacation mode.
I submitted a support request, and after 10 days, I got a generic, copy-pasted response from the help page that didn’t address my issue. I replied asking for a proper review of my request, but they just sent the same canned response again.
It’s wild to me that they can shut down my shop like this right before the holidays, especially since I was having my best sales streak in weeks. With zero support and no clear path to resolution, I’m seriously considering just starting a new store at this point.
Does anyone have advice on how to navigate this? Has anyone else faced a similar issue?

Respond back to the email that you still need help.
You were changing the tax information to an LLC? Is the verification there from before? If so and you changed the information again, Etsy needs to verify once again.
There may be something else too. Don't know.

Unfortunately I think the MO is to put the shop on forced vacation when anything like that is changed so they can verify the documents. So it would have happened either way. Starting a new shop will incur the same issues. You will just have to wait until Etsy can reverify your documents. I'm not quite sure why they take so long to process these things but it's not unheard of for shops to be waiting for several weeks.
