Since we're being forced to use the new app soon, I'm trying to get used to uploading on it. But it won't upload photos from my phone. It'll only accept a photo if I take it with the camera at the time of listing. This isn't going to work for me. I don't take my photos at the time of listing, I take them ahead of time.
Is anyone else having this issue or knows of a way to fix it?
Oh and thank you Etsy for making it impossible to talk to anyone, anytime at your company. Great service! I’m going to list more on EBay, etc! An answer to anything would be appreciated!!!
Anyone else's photo thumbnails totally wrong and out of proportion????
I thought this was something that was fixed a while ago only to see that at least 40% of my thumbnail for my prints are zoomed in and not how I set them???
I've spent countless hours on my photography so I was quite upset to see what they decided to do to my photos. My page gives me a headache to look at now, things are chopped off, magnified, blurry....NOT how I set them to be viewed in my thumbnails! I use my backgrounds to catch peoples' eyes, now they've cropped that out. I have over a thousand listings between two shops and cannot recreate my samples to re-photograph. Not happy at all! NO wonder my sales are down. Here is their reply when I inquired about this change:
Here is what I was told: We ran an experiment with buyers to test different listing image sizes and ratios to see which ones performed best. Experiments like these help us better understand buyer behaviour, so we can pass this information along to you to help you make more sales. Good news! We've learned that buyers are more likely to make a purchase when a shop displays square photos*.
I haven’t been able to load a new photo on this app since we were forced to use it. I have no new listings and can’t update the old listing photos. This is months of no help and no answers. This new app has nothing more user friendly about it. I hate it!
Here it is September and I am still unable to upload pictures on Etsy. Have a dozen new listings and cannot post. It was suggested I use a different browser..... still didn't work. Just changed my camera setting to "most compatible" as suggested and again did not work. Why doesn't Etsy take care of this? Help.
October 3 and the issue still isn't fixed.
It's really sad when you just give up even trying, isn't it? That's me now.
I finally got in touch with someone today. I went through the chat and selected Star Seller but then discussed the app issues. I would suggest everyone do that to complain.
UGH!! taking me hours to list a item because the photo's will not load. I have tried everything going to FireFox does not work same issues. I am sure everyone wants to list their new items for early Christmas shoppers. This is a nightmare.
What is going on? Why isn't this fixed yet?

This is really awful… I’m a vintage seller, so every listing is unique. I’ve been used to listing ten new items a day, and today I took over 500 photos which all need loading. But won’t. Slowly but surely the app has increasingly refused to upload my pictures- how on earth am I supposed to run my business if this continues?! My laptop takes forever to load items. This is literally going to cost me my lovely little business unless they fix it. It’s absolutely crazy.
Can someone please explain how this app is an improvement on the old one?!
Over the last few days Etsy has kept timing out, whether using the app or the web site. I thought it was my slow (and getting slower) internet connection, but obviously not. It took me over 5 hours the other day to list one item. The photos just wouldn't load.
We all wish the old app came back especially with all the bugs that need fixing.
I see this is an older post but still getting comments. I cannot get photos uploaded, and it's so frustrating!
I managed to list 2 items today. Both took 2 hours and more. The photos will not upload. I thought it might be my slow internet connection but with every device turned off still no joy. I think it’s Etsy’s server. It can’t cope with the amount of traffic. Etsy stop listening to the buyers and listen to the sellers. We create your income. No listings. No income.
I'm also having trouble getting photos to load on any platform or device, wifi, hard wired, etc. I've tried the new app, old listing form, new listing form, uninstalled the app, restarted my phone (Galaxy S23), installed the app, tried the browser on my phone. Nothing works. Taking hours to get 1 listing done.
Etsy are you doing anything to help us all out?
I don’t know if this will help anyone. On my iPad I reduced the photo size to medium, removed the location and captions options and the photos uploaded in seconds - 3 at a time!!!!!
Just tested it again using the same settings. 10 photos uploaded immediately

Through the web site. Haven't tried it on the app.
im on android and have the same issue..cannot upload photo...tryied everything----hopefully this will be resolved soon since i depend on app convo....
I'm the same. Unable to attach images to customers in messages since I uploaded the latest app from Etsy. How utterly poor is it that we pay SO much money for an inadequate product. Image if we did that in our small businesses?!!! I'm so frustrated.
ETSY- Help!!! YOU HAVE TO DO BETTER THAN THIS!
Here it is December and I still can't upload photos from my app (for me it's when i want to include a photo in a message) it takes me to the option to take photo or select library, of course i select library and it loops back around to settings over and over...all settings are set up to allow photo/file/media- this is a note 10 plus - samsung galaxy. Is this issue ever going to be resolved? it's been months.
ETSY please GO BACK TO THE OLD AP/LISTING options- IT WAS WAY BETTER!!!!!! NEVER HAD AN ISSUE...
Still no luck uploading photos. Sadly I have stopped uploading new listings despite having loads of wonderful stock to put up. I have good sales but I can't be wasting my life and getting frustrated all the time with that Please contact Etsy support after every try. So I am going to try another platform.
