Uploading Photos on new app

Since we're being forced to use the new app soon, I'm trying to get used to uploading on it. But it won't upload photos from my phone. It'll only accept a photo if I take it with the camera at the time of listing. This isn't going to work for me. I don't take my photos at the time of listing, I take them ahead of time. 

Is anyone else having this issue or knows of a way to fix it?

Thanks for mentioning Mercari. Etsy really sucks & gets worse with every change they make. Has Elon Musk bought it?

Yes I don't know why they call it Etsy support, they are utterly useless and less help than a pair of nylon tights with holes in!

I finally lost my cool today and contacted Support.  Wouldn't take no for an answer.  Was chatting for a good 15 to 20 minutes.  Asked them to look at this thread and copied the link.  Updated the App while I was speaking to him, tried to copy a listing, edit photos and add a new one - rien, nada.  He said he would personally escalate my ticket to the technical team for them to have a second look.  He will escalate it to them as soon as we finish the chat.  So I suppose all we can do is wait.  The app was updated today, but I can't see any difference.

Nope, I was able to upload last week, no more as of today. WHy is this so difficult to fix when so many are complaining?

I tried copying a listing again, deleted the photos, except one.  Et voilà!  8 photos loaded immediately.

Having the exact same issue and really missing the old app!

I did not have a problem with photos but I am having video problems. I get a message that the size is incorrect. I have changed it but it has not corrected it.

My biggest problem is choosing the shipping. In the old version, I would choose fixed custom. But I don’t seem to be able to find it on the new when I thought I had found it, it did not save it. 

I’ll just keep trying.

Not being able to upload pics is getting old!!!  Why get rid of a perfectly good app when the new one does not work!  I’m still having problems!  When  is this going to be a priority to be fixed?  Anyone else frustrated?

Agree, I was able to upload for one day only, then crashed again.  Someone should lose their job over this. Is Etsy reading this thread and seeing how unhappy their sellers are?

Originally I wanted to see if I was the only one having these problems.  I went directly to support and got none. My hope is that everyone on here with a complaint is contacting them.

This HORRIBLE app brings back memories of dial up internet. Total fail Etsy.

How convenient for etsy to not even give sellers an actual rep to discuss their terrible app and ALL the difficulties it has unnecessarily reaped upon us sellers.  I am forced to use other  platforms for selling.

The speed and ease of the old app was actually a large factor in Etsy's success. Someone high up really missed that point. Quick and easy has been replaced with frustrating and SLOW. I honestly don't list as much for that reason alone. I tried the Etsy browser on phone and didn't care for that either. I don't want to "sit" at my desktop to list but that is what it has come to, hence I don't do it as often or enjoy it as much.

Plus, the issue with this is there are several steps to getting the photos from your phone to your desktop.  It takes 3-4 times as long and then it takes ages to upload. I have 15 new items to list and can't be bothered tbh.
