When I receive an order, I message a thank you/ETA before I print it out for my needs. The message for my latest order will not send. I hit "send" but then it is gone with "no messages about this order yet." Repeated tries same result. Anyone else experiencing this? Was not a problem an hour ago.
follow up: next order that just arrived, message successfully sent. Went back to this one and still no message sent.
Mine is doing the same, my sent messages are showing up in a previous message thread from that customer & the messages I have tried to send are showing up as no response in 24 hours so I will lose star seller tomorrow. I reported this to Etsy earlier. I received a link to the hand book just like always. I have turned in other tickets about this today with no response at all.

Maybe they're in the process of trying to fix the issue buyer's have with not responding to seller's unnecessary notes, and losing their purple star because of it?
By unnecessary, I mean not requiring an answer.
Could the orders still be processing and not finished completely.

This has to be due to the "improvement' to convos they announced because of all of the star seller complaints.
Etsy says that "... it will also make managing all your messages much more streamlined." That may be true for some, perhaps even many, sellers, but in our case this will be the exact opposite. We have many repeat customers where we have multiple special requests or inquiries and them all being lumped into a single thread will make it a nightmare to manage and to make it obvious which matter is being addressed. Plus I suspect it will actually make it easier to miss an important incoming message because it will be buried amongst unrelated convos.
If you send a message to a customer (you have sent a convo to previously) from an order using the 'message buyer' button, the message gets attached to some other convo, but DOES NOT show up on the order itself ! So if a customer contacts us about an order they placed, will it show up on that order or just randomly in the in box ?
Whoever approved these changes clearly does not manage a real and active Etsy shop or they would know that these improvements abysmally fail to "make managing all your messages much more streamlined."
I have just ended an almost hour long chat session with Etsy explaining the situation. No resolution yet. But was told they have to send to the next level of help. I will add to this thread once I know what is going on.
I've noticed this the past couple of days on my repeat buyers messages. Kind of annoying and confusing. They at least need to show the message thread from the previous orders in the new order so I don't think I am going crazy.
I would bet money that it's something broken or some bit not functioning properly due to them trying to "improve" the star seller messaging stuff. That's classic Etsy "improvement" tech glitch/bug behavior.
Bot mismanagement, gone amok by, due to confusion bandaide patch.
Don't keep trying to send that message. As many times as you hit the send button, it will show up in the old conversation you had with that customer before. Been there, done that....
