Unable to Add an item to my Current Sale Offer

To the etsy technical people.

I am trying to add an item to my current sale offer but when I type in the name of the item... it says there are no active listings with that name.

I have tried with just one word in the title or a combination of words but still... nothing appears.

Can you please let me know why this is happening.

It is the Tarot of Enchanted Dreams.

Sometimes you have to play around with different combinations of the words in the title, just one, all of them, just a couple. Or you can try bringing it up by category, then X out the ones you don't want.

i have tried every thing i could think of except the category idea!

but what a pain that was to X out 32 items just to have 1 of the items appear for the sale.

that is not the way it is supposed to work.

My experience has been that it doesn't work more often than it works.  Usually, I can only type one letter before it goes off searching andcomes back with a list that doesn't contain the item I want.

I only know 1 way to add something to a current sale

Shop manager, sales and marketing, sales and discount. Find the sale your running, click on details, then click on the one you want to add to the sale.

@nineteen27  Etsy does not come here for technical problems much so asking Etsy here doesn't really work.  They aren't here much really except for some things now.

As to adding something to a sale, how were you adding?  I don't use the title .  I use one keyword and then select from the list.   Indexing can take a few hours at time so that;s why you may not have initially had it in the list.  The last thing you tried by then it was indexed into search.  Delays are not uncommon.

Etsy tells sellers to post in technical issues.

I use the add to sale feature a lot and find it much easier to select a section and X out the items I don't want to include.  The selecting individual items is very glitchy and very seldom works correctly.  Doesn't have anything to do with not finding new and renewed items.  It doesn't find things that have been listed for weeks/months.

I find this happens when the item is about to expire. It's usually available once it renews.

that is exactly what happened.

i have been having sales on etsy for years and until today had  no idea that an item about to expire would not appear on the list of current items!

If I want to add a specific Listing to a Sale event I use the SKU in the "Search fo a specific Listing" box

@nineteen27 you are welcome! I usually just go back & add the listing in the next day.

Once you have added items to a sale (and they show that they were added when you look at the sale on the backside/shop manager/marketing/sales/etc.) how long does it typically take for them to show up as added to the sale on the customer side?

@fabricfetish: Etsy uses server side caching and some pages like your shop home page may not update for some time - how long that is seems to vary considerably. There are other reported issues right now and that may affect things.

@BagmakerSupply  Thx yes I saw that someone else posted something similar right after I posted in this thread.  I went ahead and ended the sale, then added the new items to the section and recreated the sale and this seemed to work.  Thx for your help!
