Uh oh, a stitch went awry during check out.

I have been trying to check out my cart for the last hour and I keep getting Uh oh a stitch went awry, please try again later.  This is not helping anyones sales.  Is it just me or has anyone else had this today? I haven't seen anything on this in technical issues.

Re: Uh oh, a stitch went awry during check out.

I have been unable to access my cart for two days (not this account.) It just spins and spins, loading, until the stitch goes awry message comes up. It's a shame because I have an Etsy coupon to use, which isn't valid for this account. I can't complete the purchases if I can't access the cart.

Re: Uh oh, a stitch went awry during check out.

I wasn't able to access my Pineapple cart for a week due to a different problem.  So I tried to purchase a couple of things on my other account, but clicking on my cart icon gave me the awry page.  Clicking on that annoying cart dropdown, took me to the Etsy home page. ??  Then, (and this is the only time I was grateful for it!) I got the pop out telling me I had something in my cart.  Clicked that and I was able to complete one purchase.  Wasn't sure about the other purchase, so I clicked out of my cart page.  A mistake, because I had to go through a different route to get back to it again.

How many buyers are going to jump through those hoops in order to make one simple purchase?

Re: Uh oh, a stitch went awry during check out.

Well 2 days and I still can't access my cart to make purchases.  I guess Etsy isn't doing anything about it.  I also found out this has been going on for weeks with customers trying to purchase items!  This should be a time when people are shopping for Christmas gifts and our sales should be increasing.  I really think Etsy should Prioritize this problem.

Re: Uh oh, a stitch went awry during check out.

Please make sure that your payment wasn't actually processed and that the seller doesn't have multiple orders from you. In the past few weeks I've had three customers place duplicate orders. I assume that they didn't get a confirmation email for the first order because the second orders were all placed hours later when I renewed the listings. In all three cases they were charged twice and were unaware that they had two identical orders with me. Thankfully I decided to check with them to see if it was intentional so I could cancel the duplicates. One of them let me know that she received the error message in the cart the first time, so she assumed that it didn't process. Other sellers have reported the same in recent weeks.

It's the same for me. I've had a cart full of stuff that I've been trying to buy since yesterday. As soon as I click "go to shopping cart," I land on the "stitch has gone awry error." I wonder how many customers are having the same experience and how many sales were lost over the weekend.

Re: Uh oh, a stitch went awry during check out.

There is an ongoing thread and the forum moderator asked that issues be reported there in one consolidated place.  If people post their checkout problems there it may help as that thread has already gotten mod attention:

Re: Uh oh, a stitch went awry during check out.

There’s been several threads on this.  It happened to me also on two accounts.  On one, I was able to access my account on my phone, move the items to ‘save for later’ and then order small amounts at a time.  Someone suggested that the carts ‘freeze’ when you reach the $35 free ship threshold. Since then, I tag all of my purchase items in Favorites until I’m ready to purchase, then move them to my cart, and that seems to work. In the other instance, I was in a test where all of my cart items were on the side of my shop page, and I was able to purchase them then. It’s very frustrating, and I wonder how many customers are just giving up
