URGENT: Lack of Response for a MONTH and Ongoing Delay in Shop Setup; It has been 2+ Months Now....

Jump to solution

Okay so my last response was "flagged" as resolved, but after receiving an email a week ago and responding to that email, I have not heard back, my problem is STILL not resolved and I am STILL unable to start my business. So to restate:

I've noticed that my case has been reviewed multiple times by Etsy support without a response. Each time they do this, the timer restarts and I have to wait even longer, hoping for a response. At this point it has now been an ENTIRE MONTH and I still haven't received a response from the Help Center. This is completely unprofessional and it honestly feels like my issue is being ignored rather than addressed.

I've attempted all suggested troubleshooting steps:

Attempts to Resolve: Cleared browser cache, tried multiple devices, tried multiple browsers (i.e. Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox), confirmed formatting compliance of both my business name and EIN, contacted the IRS to confirm my EIN IS in their system, and confirmed my business registration information formatting compliance and is correct (i.e. Entity Name, Legal Address, EIN, Business Identification Number compliant with my state, and all Identifying details of the Primary Point of Contact for my Business).

Problem: Unable to enter information into the Legal Shop Information section (EIN, Business Registration Number, Jurisdiction, and Date of Birth).

This ongoing delay has been deeply frustrating. I have attempted all suggestions. I've missed a majority, if not all, of the holiday rush at this point and seem no closer to starting this business than I did over 2 months ago. Honestly, I'm at the point where I'm not sure if I even should start my business with Etsy.

Additional Information (Just incase)

I am in the US.

I do have my SSN under the "Yes" within the "Are you a Disregarded Entity?" section.

I have tried the Single Entity and placed both my SSN and EIN in the Taxpayer ID to resolve the issue.

I have confirmed that I am considered a Disregarded Entity in my state.
I have also insured that my name, address, and all relevant information does match my legal forms to adhere to formatting compliance.

My Help Center Ticket ID: #17915404

This is beyond frustrating and unprofessional. I have no idea what to do at this point. I saw they've, unfortunately, removed the ability to call and speak with someone at Etsy, but does anyone have a contact that I could speak with directly to resolve this issue? I'm truly at a loss of what more I can do.

Thank you all for your understanding. I truly do love this community and really do appreciate all of the help.

I apologize, I did not realize that Etsy employees did not come to these forums.

To  @ModJose and @ModKenneth, I also apologize for having bothered you. I would delete this post if I could, since I am unable to, I'm going to attempt mark this comment as my solution. After further consideration, I have decided to not start my business with Etsy. After more than 2 months of being unable to get help to even start, it is evident that Etsy and my values do not align.

I have been posting over these past months, requesting help, so thank you everyone who has tried. I really appreciate all of you.

Perhaps one of the forum moderators will pick this up and send it on to the correct department/people so you can get the help you need to open your shop.

"does anyone have a contact that I could speak with directly to resolve this issue? "

No.

We are only other sellers here.

Etsy employees aren't accessible like that. Even if you talk to a human, they will forward it on to a "specialist" and you'll have to wait for the reply via email.

It can take up to 2 months to resolve, if ever.

What I can do is summon @ModJose and @ModKenneth to try to help you.

Why have you selected all those forum categories?

Etsy is notorious for not getting things done in a timely manner.  I'm not in the US but hopefully someone who is can direct you to be able to get a call back from Etsy.
