There is seems to be a current issue with two-factor login. Security codes are not being sent via text. I have noticed a few others experiencing this issue. I was hoping someone from Etsy would chime in to confirm when this might be resolved.
2FA seems to be working again, as I was just able to obtain a code.
Go into your settings (not the shop control panel but the actual Etsy settings)
Click on the security tab.
Scroll down to the bottom.
There is a running list of logins by location, IP address and system used to login (such as Android, Iphone, different browsers, etc.)
To the far right of each entry line is a column that says signed in or signed out.
If you are signed in on any of your lines, you will not always receive the 2 factor authentication because the system still reconizes your device.
If you sign out on any line that shows you as signed in, then clear your cookies, the 2 factor authentication should return.
It is also a good idea to check this list regularly for unrecognized login attempts into your account. The list goes back a very long time. I think my list has login data from years back.
Good advice. Yes, I regularly track logins there. I'm fairly certain there was a brief technical issue.
Im glad others were having the same issue and not just me. Im logged in through the app on my phone but cant log in through my computer. I cant access etsy support through the app for some reason so I was just in this loop of no solutions. Hopefully they fix this bug soon.
I’m having the same issue, it’s so frustrating! I’m hoping no one got my info but when I checked the log on locations it’s all me. And of course Etsy is no help at all.
Since there have been a number of very recent threads about this, I think this is a good opportunity to remind everyone with two factor authorization in their Etsy shop to make sure that they have their backup codes stored locally and they know where they are.
I have US Cellular, and I am unable to receive the 2FA code just now.
It just happened to me too, I went to another browser and set it up that way, then cleared the cache.
