I have had messages to my last and current customer disappear! My latest customer and I were working on some possible custom pieces, and I messaged some questions and updates. When I hadn't heard back, I was going to send another message when I noticed, my last message was gone!
It happened once before with a customer, but it didn't happen again until now.
I have apologized to my customer, and explained, not sure she believed me. So it is embarrassing. I should have asked someone the first time it happened I guess!
Hope someone has an explanation of why this happened or suggestions on how I can keep it from happening. I am so inept with anything technical! Thanks
I haven't had the problem you're describing, but I am on the forums today to see if anyone else is having trouble with messaging. I'm a seller but also I buy a lot of stuff on etsy, and I've been sending an inquiry message for several days to a seller, and have had no response at all. Her shop says she "usually responds in a few hours."
I was just going to write this myself, been four days now
I haven't been able to message repeat customers for four days now, only messages I can send are to new ones
WTF, etsy?!
Etsy is in the process of making some changes to the messaging system and, in typical Etsy fashion, this is not going well.
Best as we can determine, messages which you send to someone you have corresponded with previously now all get attached to a single thread (probably the most recent one), so even messages sent using the 'message buyer' button on orders do not get connected to that order but to a prior thread. Messages about specific orders are no longer associated with order. Only if you have never sent or received a convo from that person will it show up on the order. Copies of messages you sent are also appearing in your inbox folder (where they do not belong) as well as your sent folder on the messages page (at least on desktop).
