Hello, Etsy Sellers!
I noticed that Etsy sent me a notification stating that I lost Star Seller for shipping due to lack of tracking numbers and an order not shipping.
The first order - the buyer made several different purchases, but I mailed them all together in one large box. I put the tracking number on each order and marked each of the orders complete. No, I do not use Etsy labels. The buyer received her items. Left me a wonderful review. Everything shipped on time. It was fantastic.
Etsy dinged me.
Next order that was dinged, I input the wrong tracking number. I could not figure out a way to change it after it had been submitted to the buyer. I sent a private message to the buyer with my apologies and the correct tracking number. The buyer received her order. Items shipped ahead of time. Everything is wonderful.
Etsy dinged me again as if the order were never sent.
If Etsy provided a way to update tracking number errors AND recognize that sellers consolidate separate orders going to the same buyer into one package going out - making tracking number the same on multiple shipments, this would not be a problem.
Now it appears as if I don't mail orders in an expedient fashion, when I do.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to resolve this with Etsy?
Thank you
Unfortunately, there are no issues to correct as the system has worked as intended
There is a 3 day "Window" for a Seller to add, update, change or correct a Tracking Number
If you "consolidate" Orders, you need to put the same Tracking Number on each Order. I have read that it is best to actually type each time, not copy and paste, but I do not know if this is your problem.
@CarpetCollectionAU I always copy, paste the tracking so I don't make mistakes. Not a problem!
sorry, nested wrong...
@CollectorsFinds2 I understand, but some people have reported that, depending on the actual action and device, "copy" can be an issue. But, now, thinking back, I seem to recall this mostly related to Plaid verification process issues
I assure you that I typed each tracking number each time. There is I have done this in the past without issue. It is very strange.
The buyers have received their orders and are pleased, so I guess I will worry about it, if I see an error like that again.
If you click on the order number under the buyer's name, on the right, next to the tracking number, there is an Edit Tracking button. Need to do within a few hours so package shows shipped the same day!
Thank you for your reply.
I saw that as a possible resolution, but I did not have the Edit option available. I did it within 30 minutes.Quick question. I have an Android phone, could that have been why I did not see that option? I did not try it on my desktop. Very curious.
@UrbanSwazi Many processes are unavailable or "glitchy" on the APP. I always use a Browser or PC where anything to do with Order Processing is concerned.
Strangely, I did not see an edit tracking choice. I could change a couple of other things, but not the tracking number. Is it only possible to change if I had purchased a label through Etsy? I am a print my label at home and stand in line at thr post office type of seller.
@UrbanSwazi I just checked some of my Orders. Could it be that your Orders have already been delivered? I cannot see the "Edit" button on any completed / delivered Orders, but I can see it on some still "in transit".
@UrbanSwazi: A quick search would show you that there are lots of posts about this issue on this forum.
Updating tracking information is explained on https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015774228-How-to-Add-Tracking-and-Complete-an-Order-?segm...
Have you checked the applicable CSV file to make sure that Etsy didn't think something else was wrong with the orders? We often combine multiple orders into a single shipment and the worst we have had is that it may take a day or two after the packages has been scanned for all the orders to correctly show up in the CSV file and the star seller stats to update.
Thank you for your reply. I did go to the csv, and that is how I found out what was going on. Both of the orders have "pending transit" or something like that, but they have been delivered --- with tracking numbers.
@UrbanSwazi I print all labels on Pirateship. Haven't used Etsy labels for four years!
