Hey all! I have been adding many listings today but for some reason when I adjust the thumbnails it doesn't save it when I publish it on like 75% of the listings. I have to go back in and re-do it, and even then some of them I have to re-do multiple times for it to finally save the new thumbnail. It's really slowing me down getting these listings up and published. Anyone else experience this or have any tips? Thanks ya'll!
I can’t adjust thumbnails either. Aaargh!
time to go to shopify
Not working for me either - actually didn't have this problem 2 months ago
This problem has been going on for at least a week, even Thumbnails that have been accepted and saved and have shown up in the store as they should, are currently being rearranged again.
PLEASE CONTACT SUPPORT about this problem. The more people complain, there more likely it is they fix it.
This is beyond a joke now. I've had to readjust these images several times, sometimes more than 10 times. It saves, and then give it half an hour and etsy has changed it back to the original crap non zoomed in option they give us.
Please fix it. I don't have time to fix hundred of thumbnail photos every few minutes.
I've also tried cropping it before hand, and sometimes it works but 70% of the time it does NOTHING.
It's so annoying, I can't believe they cannot fix this issue. I just wasted a half hour trying to save a thumbnail. I got frustrated and let it be. Came back after an hour and it was finally changed to how I had it it.
Etsy employees so not read this forums. To ask them to fix it, contact Etsy support.
This has been a constant problem, and no one at Etsy wants to fix this. Another problem is that the cropped image I see in my Shop Manager view is often different than what the cropped view is if I look at things as if I was a customer. So frustrating and time-consuming. I wish they'd fix the Shop Manager view to reflect what the buyers are seeing -- this includes the photos but also reflecting if an item is on sale or whatever. To see if I have a reduced price on an item, I have to go in and view it as if I were a customer. Pretty crummy, if you ask me. Sales are in the toilet and have been declining every year, and I'm having the same chronic issues with listings. No one at Etsy listens to the sellers. If you try to get help from Etsy, you can't. If you miraculously do actually get ahold of a real person (via chat), you're told they'll tell tech support about the issue, but the chronic annoying issues never seem to get fixed. If you're going to force Offsite Ads on me for all eternity based on a single two- or-three-month sales period performance over 5 years ago, and if you're going to force square thumbnails on me with only 6 weeks' notice or so when my many shop listings are rectangular, and all of that, I (as a seller) should be able to contact you easily and you should fix the ongoing and new issues.
And no, Etsy staff don't read stuff on the forums. They have the forums so that they can used non-paid people (us, the sellers) to do "tech support" for other sellers for them for free.
Literally had this problem for years. Worse now than ever. I don't know why they can't fix it.
OP is no longer selling on Etsy, BTW...
I'm not surprised.... and I note with irony that Etsy's tagged this post with "Success!" implying the issue has been fixed (it hasn't.)
After awhile if things like this keep happening and don't get fixed, or if sellers are continuously forced to pay more and more fees for less and less service and forced to change everything in their shops around when Etsy decides to do something different, or if a whole bunch of longstanding shops suddenly get suspended because of an update on Etsy's end that forces people who have been selling here for a decade or more to jump through hoops and lose days of revenue, all but resellers of cheap not-handmade crap will be left on Etsy. If my sales were at least holding steady, that would be one thing. But sales, views, and revenue have all been in a steady decline for many years.
Is spending 15 minutes trying to resize your thumbnail (because it won't save) a thing now because thats what I'm doing every time I post a new listing...
Etsy whats happening please? This is taking time away from posting new listings and inevitably costing you money.
I am so sick of this problem. It has been happening for way too long
I would start by clearing your cache and cookies or trying a different browser. Also, make sure your thumbnail images are appropriately sized and formatted (JPG or PNG). Browser extensions can sometimes conflict with website functionality. Try disabling them one by one to see if any are causing the problem. Sometimes, a simple computer restart can resolve underlying software conflicts, too.
I've tried it in Safari, Chrome and Edge on three different computers.
Unfortunately the issues still persist. It's an Etsy problem not a user issue.
