As of yesterday when I go to adjust a thumbnail, try to save it, it is not saving. Anyone else having this issue?
Yes, lots of sellers are having this problem and supposedly Etsy is aware but it's been at least a month for me that it has been this way. I am cropping my photos to squares that fit and then hoping that if they get it fixed I won't have to redo them.
Thanks for letting me know it just isnt' me!
Same for me about a month now. I just tried the square crop today and that worked for me. Thanks!
with etsy's click heavy processes, are you making sure you click the Apply button after you are Done with adjusting the the thumbnail, and the Publish Changes? Just checking. It's easy to forget one.
But even if you click them all... I find it does take a while sometimes for the thumbnail changes to take hold, like when I change my featured listings, it takes a while. You gotta just Set it & Forget it & hope the rotisserie chicken is fully baked when you come back. (I think I said this in another thread).
My photos are always the right size and edited before I create a listing. Sometimes I like to zoom in for the thumbnail shot so that the details really show for the buyers. I have tried multiple times on one listing to get it to work yesterday and then again this morning with no luck
This has been happening for YEARS. Sometimes if you publish then go back in edit mode you can get it to work. The best thing is to take your photo in a 4:3 landscape or square format with a bit of extra room around it so it is correct without the thumbnail tool or zoom it in photo editing to get it right.
I find after adjusting the thumbnail it takes a few minutes to reflect and show.
Just bumping this as it's happening to us as well. It's so frustrating!
yes, it does not work!! It even tries to 'pretend' it works after all the clicking...and then when I go back to the main photo, there it is again, the unchanged photo still showing..
Yes, that's been an issue here for a decade +. LOL, you have to do it several times to get it to work.
I'm having this problem too. My thumbnail images are only showing half of my image for the 3 listings that I've done today. I had hoped it would have sorted itself out, but when I'm looking in search results the images are still oddly cropped. I've tried adjusting them several times, clicking done but it's still not working. I only hope this doesn't put potential buyers off as I can't seem to figure out a way to solve the problem.
I spoke with someone in the tech dept at Etsy a few days ago and were advised they are aware of the problem and are working on it, but do not have an estimated date of when it will get fixed. I also changed some of my pictures to a square and this seemed to have eliminated the problem for now.
I'm also experiencing this but lately (the last 2 nights anyway) the adjust thumbnail button is also greyed out so I can't click on it.
Same thing is happening to me and it's so frustrating! I put some new products out and I usually like to zoom in on the thumbnail photo to show the detail and each time I apply the changes and publish, it's still zoomed all the way out. I've been trying for about a week now. The "adjust thumbnail" button for me is now grayed out completely. Hopefully they get it fixed soon!!
